I had an idea about this and will share it when I have 10mins free to explain, now I'm going out to get pissed. Smile

Love the music! It definitely exists.
HuhA man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

Are you ever actually going to post your perspectives and proofs in any of your threads or are you just going to claim that you don't want the meanies to see it or that you are too drunk to function daily until people just get tired of even responding to the questions you pose? If you have an argument, just put it forward. You're not going to find "takers" for baiting here.

Not quite, I just wasn't in a position to type something meaningful last night/morning Sambucca tends to do that, I'm soooo sorry. Worship

No I thought of this question myself obviously, especially as my mother is a christian and a big believer in spirits and going through my thoughts I realised one thing, it is impossible for us to have a soul.

Through my learning about cells from that program I've been shamelessly touting, I realised that a soul represents a person/individual.

But what that program made me realise is that a human being is not one person, we are the product of a combination of millions of cells and other microscopic organisms all acting in unison to form a complete working organism.

The mind also is a product of the brain, there is no you so to speak, the mind is simply the brain making use of all the information you receive from your senses and to make the most use of it, it needs to make decisions as fast as possible, that means producing the effect of having one captain of the ship so to speak.

So if the mind is an effect of the brain for a survival tool it is not essentially you it is a portrayed effect of you, it's a decision making tool.

So we are not an individual we are made up of microscopic organisms hence why if we have a soul where or which cell would it reside in? none or all?

We don't have a soul. Sad

Does anyone have any other alternative thoughts or thoughts on my conclusions .... think it's right/wrong?

A soul can be said to be simply 'you'.

The metaphysical attributes aren't up for scrutiny on materialistic grounds. For you (DD) to make claims about that from grounds of physical science is absurd.

I strongly disagree, the whole point of my post was, what do you consider to be "you", if this is not an accurate portrayal of reality then your argument is flawed as is your opinion.

I thought you were an atheist, but you are willing to believe in ghosts/spirits? I find that paradox hard to reconcile.

If there is a spirit ..... there is by definition a God, one cannot exist without the other.

(Edit: sorry just noticed you are a christian, my point still stands lol)

I'm confused DD.. what do you strongly disagree with? I separated soul into physical and metaphysical.

No... I don't believe in ghosts or spirits, and I'm not superstitious. I believe in our spirit, God the spirit ...sure.

Your soul is measured by how long and what type of noodle you have, long story short, if you have a bow-tie noodle, you are going to the boiler.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.

Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.

You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
