I think I may not be communicating this very well. You do not follow duetoronomy and believe that you are not required to, as you have been delivered from it. Good, because it's full of laws regarding the treatment of slaves, and who can be put to death for putting it "where it doesn't belong, or when it doesn't belong". What I am saying, is that the new testament isn't any better. It's more of the same, with the addition of thought crimes, and endless torture for finite transgressions (among other choice bits).

*No,I am not being snide,merely factual:For most human beings, religious beliefs are an accident of birth. Such beliefs are inculcated,uncritically, parent to child,before the poor little bastard reaches the age of reason.(which is 12, not 7) These beliefs become a visceral part of the person's world view. Few people are capable of seriously questioning their core beliefs--if they were,the majority of human beings would be atheist,not just a tiny minority.

I must admit the spectacle of adult conversions baffles me. I can only conclude that such people are deeply wounded and damaged human beings and that being really stupid is a distinct advantage.

I don't think you'll like "what I find out". You do realize that this website defends genesis as an accurate account of material creation right? Or had you not read it, just linked it to us after a cursory glance? As though we hadn't seen this shit before. Down this road lies opportunity, Rhythm. People refusing to hear what I'm saying doesn't effect my personal choices. I'm still actively pursuing God, reading the Bible, practicing Christian standards, worshipping and praying to God. I'm still hoping that someone here will hear me, but I'm not holding my breath. In the meantime I'm approaching other atheists, here and there and starting conversations based on what I've learned here. This forum is opening doors for me, as it should, it was the Lord's will I come here and I will stay for as long as I can put up with it.

Rhythm. What of Christianity do you find offensive? I've heard so much negativity, that it all runs together, I can't seem to remember what everyone dislikes, specifically. I believe Alei doesn't like a number of things, but I'd have to go back to check. FaithNoMore made it clear: "Jesus doesn't exist." I can respect such a clear definition of why they don't believe. I don't agree of course, but I can respect that opinion.
