I too am an existentialist, but I really do border on relativist. So I guess that makes me a "relative existentialist"?
It is what it is, and I am what I am.
That makes three of us
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Really don't worry too much about labels as I really don't fit any of them. meh

Yeah...I know...but being a science-nerd, I feel compelled to quantify everything.

Welcome, Lunchbox. I don't know what kind of atheist you are, but your timing is perfect, so I'd love ya to chime in on in the Atheism is not a worldview thread.
Check it out. If you add your bit about knowing you can't be wrong (that you posted earlier) to the quantifying bit and the understanding that the labels are inadequate, you just hit for the cycle on all three of the worldviews.

Three world views? LMAO. That's preposterous beyond belief, but coming from you, I am just glad it was coherent enough for me to remotely understand.

If you press him hard to explain himself it won't be so coherent anymore.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. Coherent anymore? He isn't very coherent as it is.
My conclusion is that there is no reason to believe any of the dogmas of traditional theology and, further, that there is no reason to wish that they were true.
Man, in so far as he is not subject to natural forces, is free to work out his own destiny. The responsibility is his, and so is the opportunity.

Heh. We're making some kind of progress then. May I ask what is so preposterous about premodern, modern, and postmodern? At bottom, that's all were talking about here, and lunchbox hit all three. It's not hard to do, and we mix and match all the time.

I have no idea wat I've done. I'll look for the thread a little later.

I found that chart of no use at all, so I wouldn't rely on it too much.
