Well you couldn't have worked it out from reading the bible cos' according to that book god is a malicious egotistical prick.

Right. I shouldn't expect an answer to the question that I asked first of course... that would be WAY too much to expect.

WC: The answer to all of the questions you pose to me: look in the mirror.

So everyone can see what an utter cretin you are Eldinero, please can you present to us the proof that would satisfy the definition of the supernatural. Everyone has said it to me... you are clearly a fucking twat.

Suuuuuure they have. Tell it to my bulging Kudos page. Are you sure you're not just getting your panties in a twist because you've been caught doing what you like doing, ie trying to derail threads with your evasive tactics?

As for the proof of the supernatural, I'm sure a man as intelligent as you has heard of James Randi. His foundation has set up scores of experiments to test supernatural claims, agreed upon by those who claim access to it. And what do you know, to date nobody has claimed the million dollar prize. If someone could consistently guess pictures on cards that they couldn't see, it would be pretty difficult to argue with that. Of course, since there has never been any reason to believe in the supernatural, that prize will go unclaimed forever.

Fr0do, this is not an argument:

God is love. God is love. God is love because we have worked that out. God is love because look in the mirror. That tells us absolutely nothing, and you know it. You're being disingenuous by claiming to have made a point, and it's pathetic. Aren't you like 50 years old? Grow up.

Because that's who he is, by definition.

Well if it is love then its like the love of an abusive husband.

"why do you keep making me smite you" I imagine him booming while destroying a town or flooding a civilisation.

At least according to the bible.

Glad its just a fairy tale cos that gods an evil bastard.Wink Shades

Eldinero, you really are what people say you are. Argumentum ad populum?

James Randle investigates physical claims of the supernatural. That isn't the same thing as proving the supernatural, of which there can be no proof, by definition. Unless, once more, you could explain how that could possibly be so.

Even if everyone here thought I was a dick, it wouldn't make any difference to me. However, to indulge my ego, here are some recent reviews:

Napoleon said: 'I love this guy!'
frankiej said: 'Deserves immediate respect, bitches!'
aleialoura said: 'Takes no bullshit from idiots'
Roger Ebert said: 'Two thumbs up!'

If the supernatural cannot be proven, on what basis would I believe that it exists? That's how I decide what I believe. Proof. I realise you work in a different way, and your way is stupid and makes you very susceptible to unreliable bullshit, like...oh yeah. Christianity. Awkwaaaard.

Now I know you've decided that you want to change the subject to this proving the supernatural business, but in doing so you've got away from the topic we were on. You abandoned it as soon as I called you out on your desire to derail the thread, which is exactly what you are trying to do. So why don't you pop along back to my post on the last page where I explained how you know what the next question is, and asked why you didn't just answer it instead of giving a non-answer, which you know full well is exactly what you did. Or, you can realise that you're a 50 year old man with no idea about how the world works, and nothing with which to substantiate the thing that means the most to you in the world, and fuck off.

So why do nearly all religious followers claim that they have such proof? In many cases, it's not only proof, it's undeniable proof.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

A question for any/all xtians.....it's been asked many times but still needs to be asked until you finally give us the answer we crave.
Here in the UK last week, 4 miners lost their lives in a mining disaster in Wales. All around the country prayers were offered up to " almighty god " to save the men. God wasn't in apparently, or didn't care to intercede and the men died a horrible death. Those who prayed would be pretty pissed off as well.
So there's the question godsquad......why no miracle rescue by god?
HuhA man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

On the contrary El... I believe a shut mind to theology opens you right up to superstition. With theology you learn the difference between faith and superstition... <--- tell me you don't think both are the same? Intellectual consideration is out of bounds for you, because there can be no independantly verifiable proof.

I didn't abandon the topic... as usual the numbskulls waded in with the imbescillic evidence angle, as they have a habit of doing in every conversation, as if their idiocy wasn't painful enough to bear already. My direct answers to WC were just that... for him... although I'm sure he's glad of the diversion.

Obviously God didn't want it. I'm sure everyone would pray for no one to die. It's a human desire, that's all.

And it's at this point that I become bored of engaging you. You believe things exist without there being evidence of it. Worse yet, you think it's downright ridiculous for people to expect proof to believe in something. It's idiotic. You can't fall back on 'It can't be proven by definition', because then the only question left is why we should believe it? It is absolutely pathetic.
