Better to go after human trafficking directly than after the women or the customers. Fighting demand is a losing proposition.

Should prostitution be legal or illegal

It should be legal.
I accidentally chose that it shouldn't be so the poll should at this time read Yes: 3 No: 13 Unsure: 0 instead of Yes: 4 No: 12 Unsure: 0

It should be legal. Anything one person wants to do with his or her body, so long as it does no harm to the body of another, should be legal. Drug test them like police, make STD screenings mandatory, give them places to work, insurance, retirement. It is the oldest profession for a damned good reason.

So, because they are having sex it requires cameras? Are you insinuating that all men who use prostitutes are suspicious? Quote:How do you know not all strip clubs don't have security cameras in the VIP room? Did you really just ask that? Quote:These days I would say nearly all of them do. I have been a few myself, and the only one I have ever seen with no cameras was this tiny little joint in Athens, AL... they had "peepers" which are security guards who watch from the other side of a mirror. That was in 2002. In 2003 they got cameras. Maybe it's a south thing. Quote:Anyway, like I said, security cameras in a strip club or a brothel are not only for security and protection of the girls, but for liability. Lots of brothels have them, especially in the US and Australia. There are not enough legal brothels in the U.S. to make that assertion. So, especially Australia, which means ONE country is known for putting cameras in whorehouses. Quote:Brothels don't have locks on any of the doors, and most of them do have cameras. If you have done research that actually turned up "most brothels have cameras" with some numbers or evidence that in this vast world there are only a scant few brothels with no cameras, you should really post it because, no offense, I'm not buying it. They don't even allow cameras in the RLD in Amsterdam. As for no locks, that is obviously a different scenario. If you can get $500 for 10 minutes of enjoyable work, even if you can otherwise feed yourself, economic system would somehow make that unattractive? RE: Should prostitution be legal or illegal

I *do* think prostitution should be legal. I also think it should be well regulated as they do over in certain European countries.

Undo your vote, Jaysyn. It is clear that the wording of this poll threw many of us off.

My grandfather said that whosoever has intercourse with a gypsy cannot be purified unless he goes to a hamam and pours water over his head until the stone underneath him cracks open and dissolves, and since that is impossible, it was the common way of thought that the stain of having slept with a gypsy would never go away. ![]() Üze Tengri basmasar, asra Yir telinmeser, Türük bodun ilingin törüngin kim artatı udaçı erti? |
