Hi Ted, great....another socialist on the site! That makes 2 of us!
Welcome comrade.
A man is born to a virgin mother, lives, dies, comes alive again and then disappears into the clouds to become his Dad. How likely is that?

Indeed it does. It firstly needs people to actually believe socialism is both desireable and achievable. Many people say it's a great idea but unachievable. I suspect that such people really don't want it to be achieved at all.
So how come you are a socialist?
I wasn't born one but the " university of life " has made me one. Rather like becoming an atheist.

Well, I realized that capitalism is just based on greed and nothing more. We need a government system that will treat everyone fairly and equally, not just the rich few at the top.

But socialism doesn't encourage people to work. People are greedy by nature, we want to survive. Capitalism is the only system that rewards those who work with a fair proportion of money. Socialism grants the doctor the same as the garbage man. In such a society what would prevent me from simply doing a garbageman's work for a doctor's salary? Plus the fact I'd need to spend several years of my life at medical school, all so I could become a doctor and earn the wage of a garbageman.
bozo has tried and failed to explain this to me in a way that seems fair to me. I'd love to see another system to capitalism, but at the moment socialism doesn't seem to work at all.

My favorite thing to do is go to Barnes & Noble and read all day. I am also a socialist. I think it is the only political philosophy that gives everyone equal and fair treatment. I like to study religions and point out all the contradictory statements in all of them. If you want to know anything else, just ask me.
Greetings Ted! Welcome to the forums.

Not always everyone. Sometimes I'm awake posting on these forums past 4 am. Although more lately its been 2 or 3 at latest.
Sometimes its been 5 am. Or even 6 a few times.
Once it was 7 :$ Although I don't know if I was posting then....might have been youtubing...
But I would have got my posting out of the way in like the previous few hours anyway! Lol.
One day I had over 70 posts on this forum in under 24 hours :$
It could have been more...could have been over 80 or 90! All I know is I was on 67 posts and then I did a bunch more (over 3 more for sure and that would have been 70).
I've been busy with other things more lately...so haven't really posted in the last few days
Oh the shame!!

P.S: I'm gonna try and find some more time to posting some more again.

The only difference between a doctor under socialized medicine and one under privatized medicine is that one has 2 BMW's and the other has 1. And no, a garbage man will not make the same a doctor, but he will make more than he is now since socialism is based on workers solidarity.

Socialism as a political concept is screwy. Community supporting itself, and it's weakest members, is what it should be about. Sure some jobs are more valuable than others, but all are interdependant. Likewise those dependents that can't work can be from any career. Different societies will have different priorities. Aren't plumbers in the US far more highly regarded than they are in the UK? Perceived importance changes. At different times different skills are valued.
On the other hand.. capitalism is good in that it reflects nature more accurately. Socialism goes against natural selection. Wasn't capitalism invented by Christians <unsupportable claim alert >?
