See that, that was just the first thing that popped into mind, and yet to hear them talk they make it sound like the reason I don't believe is that I can't put myself in their shoes even in the hypothetical. This is disturbing to me, insulting my equal ability to sell bullshit to the gullible...I CAN SCAM PEOPLE TOO, waah waah.

Well they aren't allowed to hang us up by our nipples and stick a red hot poker up our ass any more. This has seriously effected their success rate.

To think like them it helps to put your brain in neutral and just let it roll down the hill. Too much thought might ruin the transmission (double meaning intended).

Well, I was referring to the fact that he is a nice source of biblical material, and there's nothing quite like using their own book against them. Sure anyone who reads the bible would be just as useful, but I'm sure as fuck not going to do it.

We have reached normality, I repeat, we have reached normality. Anything you still can't deal with is therefore your own problem.

Dont worry about those experiences. they were real in the sense that your emotional being was moved by them. I still have those "experiences" myself, even though I am very materialistic and very much NOT religious. sure, they dont happen as often, but when they do, they are much more refined and overwhelming.
example: I look up at the country sky at night and look at all of the stars. I realize that what I am seeing is a snapshot in time in the past, that what I am doing is the further I look out into space, the further I look back into the past.
Science ENHANCES that "experience" that you mention.

Hey I was thinking about a new label for my religious beliefs, or lack thereof. It is "doomed to hell". I think that's a bit more specific then a simple question mark but leaves room for ambiguity. You can be doomed to hell and not be an Atheist. All you have to do is pick the wrong religion or not pick at all. It's easy. Doomed to hell it will be....now off to my user CP.

Hey there Zippy!
Don't fret if you're doomed to hell, so are most of us here, if the fundies are right. But by Odin, what a party it will be down there and you're more than welcome to tag along!
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Thanks for all the welcomes. As a former Fundamentalist Christian but not quite an Atheist (I still have a few issues to work out) I wasn't sure how I would be received. I appreciate the warm welcome.
