What is the purpose of an everlasting punishment in hell?
|
If God were real, then human beings are more merciful, logical, and sane than he is.
BECAUSE God's son was killed by mankind according to his own will, God sent his son to earth for the purpose of dying for them....basically by proxy murdering his own child...and as a result decrees that anyone who doesn't accept Jesus is going to burn in hell forever. Here on Earth a pedophile murders a child (same concept, a child's life ended in a horrible way) and we as humans end the murderers life mercifully by painless lethal injection. Does the sicko deserve worse than that, damn right....but we as humans (at least the decent ones) do not carry out that kind barbarity because we see that it is wrong. Sounds like we should be teaching God, not vice versa. Mankind's Mercy 1 ~*~ God's Mercy 0.5 Furthermore, why would God invent or allow the existence of Hell and send people there to suffer if he wasn't a little twisted? Does he get off on seeing people suffer? Much like Kip in the Napoleon Dynamite time machine electrocution scene: Sounds like the guy needs some professional help. ~*~Your beliefs don't make you a better person, your behavior does ~*~
~*~Live a good life. If there are Gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are Gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no Gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones - Marcus Aurelius~*~
Well put.
I hope you take your wisdom to other sites where theists might learn from you. For evil to grow, all good people need do is nothing. It is our duty to our fellow man and self protection to correct stupid thinking. Thanks DL, hehe and sadly it's a never ending task is it lol ~*~Your beliefs don't make you a better person, your behavior does ~*~

Bullshit. We have neither the moral/legal obligation nor the right. I can of course see why you would want to do that; it must be really annoying seeing one's own faults reflected back from others. RE: What is the purpose of an everlasting punishment in hell?

We are growing and they are shrinking. If we let up, they grow. It is not for you or I. It is for our children and grandchildren. If we had never corrected each other, we would still be in the trees. I see that some of us still belong there. I guess that you do not expect or have children or grandchildren. With your self-centered ways, this is good. You would not be a fit parent. Regards DL |
