Are Atheists Really Hated in the US?

Not only that, you call anyone else that doesn't immoral as if sex is something we all need to pretend around each other doesn't happen. I will repeat myself. We all fornicate. Just because we're not ashamed of that doesn't make us immoral, it just means we're not uptight prudes.

I'm just curious, and I ask this in all seriousness: Do you think people should be able to walk around, say London, nude? And do you think they should be allowed to have sex openly in parks, on the tube, in the fountain at Picadilly Circus?

I mean, if we shouldn't feel ashamed...right?

I think people should be allowed to walk around nude. I do not think public sex is acceptable in all places, but I think having an open dialogue about sex in public is something that should be embraced by society. It's nothing of which to be ashamed. Nudity should not be so taboo in our society. It causes more problems than it helps. I wrote a paper in college about the psychology of sex offenders. The overwhelming majority were raised in homes where things like sex and nudity were considered tremendously taboo.

What the fuck does sex in public have to do with cartoon avatars and fully-clothed women?

Doesn't seem to be causing Bonobos any social discord Egor (copious amounts of casual, public sex). In fact, it's largely pointed out as to why Bonobos seem to be the least violent amongst primates studied for a variety of reasons (my bet is on exhaustion being a prime factor). So suck on that. Maybe we should be ashamed that we're ashamed and they're not? They're fucking chimps and seem to have something figured out that we don't. What did your god tell the Bonobos that he withheld from us?

Well, part of the issue is not subjecting kids to it so let's for a second pretend no children go out in public. Would public sex be immoral? No, but that doesn't mean it's not disrespectful. I don't want to see the majority of people having sex anymore than I want to hear them jabber in a movie theater. So no, I don't think people should be having sex in public, because it subjects others to something they have a right not to endure. The same goes for nudity. I won't, however, condemn them as something immoral.

Even in England, heck even in Sweden, if I were applying for a job, I don't think I'd want to say I was an atheist.

You don't seem to know much about England.
There is no social stigma to being an atheist in England.
Where I live being a Christian or Atheist doesn't really effect there job prospects at all.

How would atheists from the UK be treated in your Bible belt places if they told people they were atheists?

Christianity's view on sex is just one of long list of negative dogmas.
It teaches people that it is unnatural, dirty and something sinful.

Christianity is obsessed with the dogma of sin and telling people they are defective in general.

Quote:I think people should be allowed to walk around nude.

Here they are,at one place; Maslin Beach. I've never been; I don't wish to air my shortcomings in public.

Quote:The most well-known attraction in the suburb is the beach of Maslin Beach. Also known as Maslin's Beach or, simply, Maslin's, the beach is the site of a cliff-lined recreation reserve stretching from Maslin Beach town in the north to Blanche Point in the south.

In 1975, the southern half of the beach was declared Australia's first official nude beach.[citation needed] The beach is almost 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) long, so the area reserved for nude bathing is away from other beach users.

The Maslin Beach Nude Olympics are held annually, consisting of informal competitions such as three-legged races and the judging of "best bum".[8]

PS Should nudity be allowed at say local mall? Hell no! It's hard enough looking at some of those specimens fully clothed.Seeing 'em naked doesn't bear thinking about. Probably put me right off my hot dog.

Sure. The only reason we wear clothes is social custom anyway.

Regarding sex, no. Make it a lot less strict though. That's because we limit all sorts of physical activities to prevent people getting hurt, spreading disease, etc.

Would it go well at first? No. That's simply because it's a cultural taboo. Once it stopped being taboo, no one would care.

We used to think letting people of different races hold hands in public would destroy society. It didn't quite work out that way...

There are issues that come into play with public nudity and sex that don't apply to avatars and frank speech on a discussion board. You're going from apple to orange territory there, Egor, and it's really changing the subject, isn't it? You're judging us by our avatars, maybe you address that until it is resolved one way or the other before you move to public nudity.

BTW, there's an interesting Christian nudist movement which holds that God didn't intend for us to be ashamed of our bodies. Food for thought.

Speaking of avatars, looks like yours is a device that was designed to publicly torture and kill those put upon it. Thinking

What am I to think?
