Why can atonement only be done with blood? Bit barbaric if you ask me, why not cucumbers?
You are currently experiencing a lucky and very brief window of awareness, sandwiched in between two periods of timeless and utter nothingness. So why not make the most of it, and stop wasting your life away trying to convince other people that there is something else? The reality is obvious.

@Tack
So can you describe what exactly IS the fall from grace to you?

There's a video for that
If you're not supposed to ride faster than your guardian angel can fly then mine had better get a bloody SR-71.

I think he is trying to say he believes that there was an actual fall from grace but Genesis is telling of this fall from grace using a metaphoric story. I think this view is also taken by many biblical scholars. I am not familiar with ancient literature but this metaphoric style of writing may be pretty common as well.
This isn't a perfect example but the movie 300/comic/legend does represent an actual event. However the event most certainly did not take place in the way it was portrayed but it did happen.

Fair enough but wouldn't that mean Yahweh screwed up by making us that way?
With the literal story, there is a tragic choice that brings "sin" into the world. You can still say that's Yahweh's fault for leaving a loaded gun in the room and leaving the children alone with it, but at least there a decision was made and there's a definable point where the "fall" occurred. With evolution, you have neither.

He doesn't believe in evolution.

Yes, but apparently he is something of a fuck-up.
