"The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us..." should we be grateful?

That's not what I meant by that. I agree they need to have their beliefs regarding gay people challenged and criticized by Christians and non Christians a like. What I meant was I have never met one myself to do the criticizing. If I did meet one, I would definitely say something.

...but what if it hurts their feelings to be challenged and criticized thusly, what if it offends their religious sensibilities?

If I do it respectfully and genuinely, and they are still "hurt" then I'd say they're being a baby and they need to get over it.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Then stop being a baby, you need to get over it. Your adherence to a hateful scapegoating religion is easily as detestable to me as their homophobia is to you. Your hypocrisy and flip flopping is amatuer, and your troll baiting is obvious. Has been since you joined. All I've had to do is dangle the worm from day one and you swallowed. Trying to have a serious, honest and respectful discussion with you is like trying to force-feed an eel wet sand.

In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. Ok, I'm going to ask you to drop the innocent act just for a moment. I don't believe for a moment that you're as dumb as you seem to want to pretend to be. By "middle ground" I was clearly referring to the gulf between the extreme positions of your special magic book being (apparently) perverted by extremists on the one hand, and your strawmanning me into a position of banning the whole damn thing on the other. I never mentioned condemning people in any of that and I'm wondering why you want to get me to say that?

The reason I would react the way I said to anyone expressing the "dead child" thing is for personal reasons. And no I'm not going to share with you.

I think it's better to just take what I say at face value instead of assuming I'm lying, and then holding that assumption against me. I guess I must be dumb then, but I honestly was not sure what you meant by middle ground, which is why I asked you to clarify. Sorry if this upset you.

No problem, I respect your decision not to.

When was I being a baby?

I have never objected to anyone respectfully disagreeing with me on my beliefs. And heck, even the times people here are NOT so respectful, I still normally just take it and maintain my composure. Have there been times where it's gotten too much for me and I've slipped up? Yes. Only  like, 3 times lol, out of many. But never when people are being respectful So I'm not sure what you mean.

-and like a complete rube...you swallow yet another worm.

Discussing the dangers of taboo and the degrading situation of moderates in the face of fanaticism..na, crickets, you've got nothing to say.  Something you can take offense to or play the martyr card for...... you're down for that like flies on a turd.

The dissonance between *what* you're saying and *how* you're saying it is so strange. So much so that I severely doubt if any of your politeness is sincere.

Not saying I'm a "victim", just pointing out an observation.

Really, if I was telling people I didn't respect their views, I'd be getting poopoo for that too. I was just stating the obvious.
