It doesn't help your point that each of those five statements are articles of faith.  Considering that you've already written off the New Testament as useful evidence, I'm thinking this thread will have some entertainment value, but little substance.

You beat me to the punch!  Most of these "we can prove X about religious history" explanations usually require as few facts as possible in order to work.

Spoken in ignorance.

There is more evidence than you care to admit, but the purpose of the Minimal Facts Approach is to work from the facts that NT scholars - believers and unbelievers alike - accept from NON-BIBLICAL sources.

Lot's of people believed they saw Elvis after he died too.

Don't let him off the hook with even taking the bait. First let's go to scientific evidence for the existence of the disciples. If that's established, which is more than unlikely, since there is no historical evidence, only legends, we can take it a step further.

Otherwise it's just Randy running his mouth.

What's to refute?

As long as you present claims instead of evidence, it's just blah blah. Present something solid for a change and we can have a discussion. I can claim that Bugs Bunny took a shit on my front lawn today. Care to refute that?

Please, provide any credible evidence of the disciples even existing before we take this any further. Someone claimed the above. There's no evidence for the above. Do you really not get that?

Josephus mentions James the brother of Jesus and head of the Church in Jerusalem by name.

Odds are, if they existed which is as doubtful as your godboy existing, they would have been gullible fools just like you.

Hearsay proving hearsay. Good job, Randy. You still have absolutely no clue what history and evidence actually means. And yo have even less of a clue how the writers of old worked. But again, that's not surprising, since the only thing you have proven to us is your absolute ignorance on every topic not being bible.

Sure. Except that you can go to Elvis' grave, open it up, and find a skeleton in his coffin. So far, no one has been convinced of these sightings to the pont that they are willing to dig him up, have they?

Additionally, Elvis' career spawned an entire industry of Elvis impersonators...people intentionally trying to look and sound like Elvis in order to capitalize on his fame. Not so with Jesus.

Elvis never claimed divinity. Jesus did.

Elvis did not promise to rise from the dead. Jesus did.

Elvis did not perform other supernatural miracles during his lifetime. Jesus did.

Hopefully, you weren't trying to make a serious argument, were you?

I started this thread a month ago.

Have you come up with anything to refute a single one of the facts accepted by professional scholars, yet?

If so, would you post it? Or do you need more time? [Image: wink.gif]

Oh please....

Speaking of serious arguments. Do you even understand that concept? Are you out to loony us to death or what is this?
