I'm not as verbaly violent as my fellow atheists however I must contest on this point https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?se...ersion=ESV If that didn't come through correctly (my computer savy isn't the best) then ill explain what it means to me the casual reader. It says don't associate with non-believers. there are others. just google what the bible says about non-believers and you will see. It's not pretty my friend. And sadly, you are the demographic that FUX goes for. Dumb-as-a-fucking-rock jesus-spouting assholes. That's why I used the FUX as the source. Saves that whole bullshit argument over the supposed "liberal" media. There's Christians who will refuse to bake a fucking cake for people they don't like, what the hell do you think? Actually, providing medicine does contradict some people's religious beliefs. But that is not the main thing I wish to point out. In the case of a pharmacy selling drugs, if one has a moral problem with it, one ought not be a pharmacist. In the case of baking cakes, if one believes that cake baking is immoral, one ought not be a baker of cakes. These assholes want to have their cake and eat it too. If your moral standards do not allow you to do a particular job, you should get a different job. Otherwise, if we let people refuse service for religious reasons, people will be refusing service to black people and any other people they want to refuse service to, and that is unacceptable. Many racist assholes would be happy to go back to the old ways of segregation and exclusion of black people, refusing service to them, on religious grounds. If you don't want to dispense drugs, fine, don't be a pharmacist. If you don't want to bake cakes, fine, don't be a baker. Pick something that you are willing to do, not something that you are not willing to do. "A wise man ... proportions his belief to the evidence." — David Hume, An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding, Section X, Part I.
For a Christian baker to refuse to bake a cake for a gay couple, based on religious principles, is absurd.
The baker doesn't wish to offend God by enabling others to sin. But according to Christian belief, we are ALL sinners....Christians included. Why not refuse service to everyone, then?
Bad for business.
And making money is the xtians true 'god.' (July 24, 2015 at 12:56 pm)Minimalist Wrote: Bad for business. While I agree with the sentiment of your statement, I feel the need to qualify it: If money was really the most important thing to them, they would have simply taken the gay couple's money, which is as good as anyone else's money. No....this is about CONTROL. And control is really what all religion is really about.
You don't understand advertising very well. They wanted to be THE JESUS LOVING BAKER so all the other jesus-loving shitheads would support them and patronize their shop.
Religion is always about marketing, my friend. (July 24, 2015 at 3:12 am)Huggy74 Wrote: I'm trying to figure out what you're talking about.... Do you do this on purpose to be intentionally frustrating, or do you seriously have what appears to be a significant comprehension problem? Morning after pills are considered to be a form of contraception. Christers, with their ridiculous life at conception horseshit, consider the morning after pill to be abortion so some refuse to dispense based on a religion. Morning after pills are contraception, you're just going to have to deal with it. |
