Christians have a sense of humor

Christians have a sense of humor
Ok guys I've debated posting this or not but I figured why not?

My friend and I used to do skits for local churches because we found the churches to be very uptight, pompous and boring.

We wanted to bring some light heartedness and laughter in to church. So below is the skit that I had the most fun doing.

We are not made happy by what we acquire but by what we appreciate.

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Wow. You guys took the Biblical premise of Eve (Woman) being inherently impetuous, stupid, shallow, vain, manipulative and weak, and really ran with it. Nice job! Normally, I would say that this narrative causes people to rationalize viewing women as inferior, but after seeing this.....it just makes me laugh! Whew!

Oh, lighten up! It's just supposed to be funny, lol. How can a man dress up as a woman for a skit, and it not be meant to be in good fun? Shy

i normally have a sense of humor but i do not find this funny.
i don't know i mean i already find the bible as a laughing matter and religion but
acting it out is not really funny at all. I mean if this is comedy this is terrible...

No, no, no, humour is a very, very serious thing. It too often gets used as an excuse for stereotyping by people. Good humor always has a serious core, it is only good if it is subversive (i.e. not serving the oppressive aspects of the status quo) and contains a deeper truth. /German humor specialist

I liked it Smile

I think it's nice to see Christians relax and not take it all so seriously.
