The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

She was hoping to discuss why we are in denial?

In denial of a delusion. I could go to a Christian board and ask them to discuss why they don't believe in Dionysus. There's plenty evidence of wine and drama, so he exists.

Which I always win, naturally. I learned long ago that it's not just for stirring my coffee with. The security in Starbucks told me.
Now I wonder. Was the security like "Excuse me Sir, if I may - did you know that it's not just for stirring coffee?", or is that merely your interpretation of "get off the premises now or I'll fuck you up" ^^

It's how I choose to remember it, yes.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Very smart of God to invent the devil and "nature" so that he can point at them whenever anything bad happens.
Even the young lady said "Life isn't fair". That sounds like a clear admission that God is either not all loving, or is severely lacking in resources.
Oh yes, he blames us too, because of fruit consumption before out birth. It's everyone's fault but gods. Except when something good happens, then it was all his doing! Otherwise known as confirmation bias, which is all religion is (plus the placebo effect).

Why was the devil even made? That seems counterproductive. I'd get it if God was a fantasy author and we're all characters in a storybook, but we're not, and he isn't.

Because of free will. That seems to cover everything. The ultimate scapegoat. Maybe the devil is free will?

Why are we here? Free will. What's the meaning of life? Free will. Why was JFK shot? Free will.
