1. Slippery Slope.
2. Boobs are not any more a sex object than a mouth is.

If the sight of the human body freaks you out so much, maybe you should go try living in Iran.
See? Exactly what I said - distorting of morals. If you had done the "so hard" work to read and understand what I said, you wouldn't respond that way.

And no, human body doesn't disgust me. What disgusts me is the smell that usually surrounds the suckling mothers. Apparently none of you has ever been close to one - smells like a cowshed and sometimes I wonder is she a human or a cow.

Walk away, then.

Quote:Again - human body doesn't disgust me. I like human body, regadless of the gender. But I prefer a naked pussy than a boob.

Do you really think the baby or its mother cares what you prefer?

Quote:Someone said women weren't sex objects. I disagree and I know lots of people who would disagree as well.

Great. Remind me not to invite you to any AF get-togethers. If you're for real, you kind of scare me.

So, kids can't view boobs on TV and they're being censored, kids eyes are being covered but nobody lifts a finger to prevent kids from viewing boobs in public because it's a woman feeding her baby. Boobs are boobs, regardless of where one can see them. If they legaize that, next I'm expecting to legalize public sex in the park because there will be visible boobs and apparently visible boobs are not a problem. Or, using that contradiction and knowing the double standards some kinky people apply, some of you may say it's ok to have public sex for as long the woman is feeding her baby while her lover and/or husband do her doggy style.

1. We don't censor boobs on TV in Australia. 2. Public nudity laws in Australia are antiqued and in need of being revoked anyway. But that said 3. Indigenous Australians freely practise their cultural lifestyles without issue, and you can expect to see images of this such as this one:

Moderator Notice
Image removed for nudity

Either broadcast on TV or in real life.

I'll quote from the SBS story:

Quote:Questions are being asked about how Facebook balances censorship and cultural practice after the company pulled a trailer of ABC TV’s 8MMM program citing potential 'offensive nudity'.

The trailer depicted Indigenous Australian women taking part in a traditional ceremony, showing them painted in ochre and uncovered torsos.

Facebook's removal of the content has raised questions about how the social media monolith deals with traditional cultural practices in a digital world.

Associate Professor Ruth Barcan from the University of Sydney, who specialises in nudity and feminist cultural studies of the body, says "even within one single tradition nudity can be so complicated, let alone when people across different cultural backgrounds are interpreting it.

"But in a quite simple way Facebook has a set of easily determinable rules."

Sydney's University of Technology digital studies lecturer, Dr Bhuva Narayan, says better attention must be given to digital content that involves Indigenous Australia.

"It's time for us to revisit the [amended 2010] Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Library Protocols for Library Archives and Information Services in this age of digitalisation and social media."

The protocols are a guide on how information services should handle Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander content in a culturally appropriate way.

Dr Narayan said the post could have been removed because Facebook’s algorithms automatically detected it or a user reported the content.

If a post is taken down for breaching policy, the page owner can republish the post, if they can prove it is acceptable content by context.

Another option is to create an 'authorised page' so "then Facebook would take a bit more care in investigating what content is questionable," said Dr Narayan.

4. Could you explain to me what the image I just posted has to do with "morality" or "public sex"? Are you really that disingenuous?

Do you realise that it would be deeply offensive to an Indigenous person if you were to tell them that their apparel is 'inappropriate'. Not only that, but it is viewed as a form of racism not just merely a form of cultural insensitivity. And if the government tried to intervene it would be a breach of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Cultural sensitivities aside, it's just as insensitive to a breastfeeding mother to go and impose your world-view on them, as it would be for you to tell Aboriginal people not to practise their culture where you can see it.

RE: Your Sentiments on Breast Feeding in Public
So from what I'm reading here, public breast feeding leads to sex in public, is that correct?

Well, people have sex in public anyway. That's not because they saw some woman breastfeeding somewhere, it's because they're horny and can't wait.

I attend a nude barbeque a couple of times a year in a place called Byron Bay. There are males and females of many ages involved but no one under eighteen. By your logic it should turn into an orgy. It doesn't. As far as I'm aware, people don't even hook up - at least during the barbeque.

Also, if you don't like the smell, there's the option to walk away. Unless, of course, your legs are painted on.

Maybe Australia doesn't censor boobs but USA does as well as many other countries.

As for the picture - I'm sure those natives wouldn't be allowed to walk through an Australian city "dressed" like that which would be some sort of a censorship. You think I'm crazy? Take off your clothes, leaving only your pants and walk through any city, even an Australian one. I'll give you 30 minutes tops of success after which you'll end up in the local PD. There's a dress code norm nowadays' society has imposed and they won't let you break it. On a gay parade you may walk totally naked and nobody would say anything to you but that's a special event and everyone on it has the right to dress or undress the way they like. But outside that event you'll have to face the consequences. In fact I just found some proof for you to understand that these natives would most probaby spend 24 hours (or longer) in the PD because of indecent dressing.

Quote:What are the current laws defining nudity in Australia?

Quote:If you are in your private home it is not an issue.

Backyard will depend on whether you can be seen by your neighbours and whether they complain. It is not a criminal offence but if they complain they can get an order form the court that you stop.

Outdoors and in public other than nude beaches it is a criminal offence and all states have their own laws.

It all comes under the Crimes act and it is an act of indecency.
These quotes are one year old and I seriously doubt these laws have change so quickly. See for yourself: http://www.justanswer.com/australian-law...ralia.html

RE: Your Sentiments on Breast Feeding in Public
Female breasts serve 2 evolutionary purposes for homo sapiens- attracting males and feeding babies. I'm not "outraged" by women who just whip their boob out in the middle of a public place. It's just a boob, I have a pair of them too. I would *personally* opt to cover mine and my (future) babies up in a public place though since I don't care to attract unwanted sexual attention from men. Just because they *should* avert their eye and feeding and infant isn't a sexual activity doesn't negate the fact there are still perverts out there.

I actually used to work at Victoria's Secret as a sales associate, and I shop there quite a bit.  So I have zero against the place.  But it's kind of funny how people are totally okay with their ads, but then they'll say "Breastfeeding in public?  How indecent!"  It's hypocrisy at it's finest.  I only really had one person say something to me when I breastfed my daughters in public.  They said "Can't you do that at home?"  and I was like "No, I kind of can't.  I have triplets, and they're all hungry.  If you want to deal with them all crying because they're hungry be my guest and take care of them while I get my shopping done."  Though I do have to say it wasn't a guy who said it to me, it was a woman who looked about the same age as me (which was in my early 20's at the time)

I also worked at Victoria's Secret for a while. I definitely miss getting all the free/discounted bras when a new one came out.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
