The govt shouldn't be pcking favorites.

Wow Mishka, when's the last time you asked yourself if you're smarter than a fifth grader?

Abe?

Yes. And fuck all the millions upon millions of people whose jobs were with those companies.
A horrible economic depression with millions of roving and hungry homeless is preferable by far to any gummit gitten thar dirty hands in those corperations' bidness.
If today you can take a thing like evolution and make it a crime to teach in the public schools, tomorrow you can make it a crime to teach it in the private schools and next year you can make it a crime to teach it to the hustings or in the church. At the next session you may ban books and the newspapers...
Ignorance and fanaticism are ever busy and need feeding. Always feeding and gloating for more. Today it is the public school teachers; tomorrow the private. The next day the preachers and the lecturers, the magazines, the books, the newspapers. After a while, Your Honor, it is the setting of man against man and creed against creed until with flying banners and beating drums we are marching backward to the glorious ages of the sixteenth centry when bigots lighted fagots to burn the men who dared to bring any intelligence and enlightenment and culture to the human mind. ~Clarence Darrow, at the Scopes Monkey Trial, 1925

Your example of ball bearings is company and item specific. That you think this would be the only company that could manufacture these items is to use tunnel vision. GM and Chrysler ae not comapnies vital to the national defense. They are vital to the Dems for all the money and votes the unions bring.

Holy crap. All jokes aside, you really do fail at reading comprehension. How very sad for you.

I'm sure people in GM car dealerships, auto parts, and so on all don't count.
The unions aren't responsible for Fannie and Freddy's irresponsible lending practices, the US auto car company's refusal to make good and competative vehicles, or any reason that anyone thus far can provide for contributing to the economic depression we've gotten into.

And you're certain that any company that would hve picked up the pieces to all these companies would have picked up the employees also? Right... right... just like how the Bush tax cuts created jobs over the past decade... oh wait...

Why is it that conservatives think people in government power are the devil but people in charge of multi-billion dollar corperations are saints who can do no wrong? Apparently power and money is only corrupting when you're running a state or nation.

Did they get bailed out? GM cut many of them loose based on the politcal affiliations of the owners and not on the strength of their sales. Are the parts company still supplying parts to GM? Or did some new entity take over?
