Wouldn't want either on a motorcycle.

Oh shit man, I wouldn't want to be on a motorcycle at all. I had my stint with that, realized it was just a matter of time until I killed myself or someone killed me.

Ditto. It feels like going out without your shoes on. I wear a seatbelt out of habit and because statistics are clear, they save lives. People who don't wear them (that's illegal in the UK) seem to do so for irrational reasons like they hate being told what to do, or they heard an anecdote about someone who only survived because they weren't wearing one.

There's a corpse up there on the sign. Gooooooooooaaaaaaal!
You're welcome.
(there's little left to do, after someones died, than laugh, you know. Show a little contempt for your own mortality, eh? Laughing beats the alternatives...in any case.)
My alternative isn't to cry hysterically or get depressed or anything. My alternative is exactly what I did in this thread, use the situation as an excuse to discuss the importance of wearing a seatbelt.
I like horrible jokes too. I laugh at things that often leave me wondering what kind of sick monster I must be. If you told a hypothetical story about this with the goal joke I would have likely laughed. I just can't find it funny when it's real. It's annoying. I want to reverse time so I can hunt that person down and give them a naggy motherly hour long lecture about how stupid they are for not wearing a seatbelt.

Agreed. I don't find it funny either. Interesting sure. But there are too many people in the world and it is just natural selection taking its course.

Apparently there's an update to this story, and the moral is: Seatbelt > God.
Lamb Sacrifice Performed for Man Days Before He Was Ejected onto Freeway Sign
Quote:Richard Pananian, 20, of Burbank had been battling serious health issues but overcame them, said his cousin, Armen Kardashian. He would not say what the health issues were.
This time, his family wasn’t taking any chances and was determined to protect him, so they performed a matagh, or offering, on Oct. 25. Matagh is a tradition of the Armenian Church and often used to show appreciation to God for saving a life, asking for good health or for peace for deceased loved ones.
Pananian’s family hoped the offering of the lamb would provide some protection, his cousin said.

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.

The way I look at it is that there are countless tragedies every day that are much worse than this, and if someone wants to makes themselves a comical example of what happens when you don't use your brain, I think it's okay to point and laugh. If you worry yourself over every death you hear about, it's going to be a rough life, which I think is what Rhythm was referring to as the alternative. It was a silly way to go that was facilitated by this person's own stupidity, so it's okay to laugh at it. You're only human after all.
