I never understood the point of douching. Isn't just washing it thoroughly enough?

Douching is unnecessary and can be potentially harmful, especially if done frequently. It can alter pH balance amount/affect the amount of beneficial bacteria to the area, and make one more susceptible to infection.
There's just no reason to continue to believe that a vagina should smell like wildflowers, in this day and age. I suppose there are still plenty of women who believe "down there" is a "dirty place".

I've never douched, but I was under the impression that there was no smell so long as it was well cleaned in the shower.

And I haven't even had that much sex... so I'm a fast learner huh?
If you're queefing you're doing it wrong.
So queefing is God's way of steering us straight (no offense, Vorlon).

A good reason not to over do it. Men like the smell, don't you?

I'm straight so I've never been "down there" to smell one lol. But I've been told there is no smell. Of course, I'm one of those women who has to have a shower right before I let that particular thing happen, so maybe that's why.

The particular natural taste of vaginal juice is perfect as it is... Why mask it? Why hide it?

My gynecologist told me that a fishy smell is indicative of a bacterial infection.

Women are very self conscious about their natural scent. Its not lack of hygiene. Its yummy.

You don't wash your vagina with soap, that's internal. You wash your vulva.
Well, if you are a girl.
