And, I have to ask, who's ego is larger? Someone who simply marvels at the size of the universe and the incredibly low odds that we're us, or someone who thinks that an unseen parental figure created an environment just for them to live in?
Theists, but modern Christians in particular, suffer from what I'm now labeling the Double Star Trek Fallacy. They think that everything around them "must be meant for man" while never asking "what does god need with a starship humanity?" If that's not hubris, nothing is.
Neither you and Cato can offer any profound thought on the meaning of life, etc and just sit wait for proof. What a waste!! Rather try to grasp the meaning of life, meditate on it, try to understand beyond death, etc.
Only thing you proved is that your are LAZY to try to have deep thoughts on this topic. You are just unwilling to do it

Why does life have to have a meaning beyond what we provide for it? And what value is there in wish casting for an existence beyond death?
You seem to think that you're some sort of deep thinker because you have an imaginary friend based on an intentionally vague description found in books written by ancient peasants and vague, never substantiated promises of an eternal afterlife. Which is completely laughable.
If you want deep thought, you need to meet us halfway. So far, the theists who attempt to apologize are lacking in that department. You need more than special pleading, conflating assertions with arguments, utter reliance on tu quoque, and insults.
But, I'm sure you'll just continue calling everyone who disagrees with you stupid. That seems to be the most common behavior of the apologists here. Sound and fury signifying nothing because they have nothing else to provide.

Come on !!! Man you don't even try. You are telling me that you never felt or thought about your existence and how it might fit into this this world. For you it is just a fluke!!! Would rather have your mother abort the pregnancy than give you life? Would rather be born somewhere else? Everyone (hopefully) goes thru some form of questioning about life in general. No you don't have to come to the same conclusion as I do, but to play dumb like say there is nothing after death or there is no meaning of life is just being lazy.
There is no wonder that Modern Atheism is consider by most as useless. At least the atheists in ancient times, especially in the east, would have not thrown out the possibility of one's consciousnesses to continue after death. Atheists today, especially the ones in the West, are just vegetables

Thus in lieu of any real meaning, say (or at least one that one can comprehend), would you be content to make it up?
What of there is no meaning? Or what If you give it meaning through your own subjective experience?
I ask, does it even make sense to ask the question? What if your meaning differs from another?
Please elucidate. What exactly does 'meditation' do in trying to satisfy the question that a beer with friends doesn't? Or a heart to heart with a loved one? Or simple dreaming?
What are your comparators and how are they controlled and calculated?

I see that you have concluded that atheism = 'nothing'.
Further questions. What do you mean 'nothing'? How, showing your working, does a stance of being an atheist in relation to the relevant questions that it deals with preclude stances on a myriad of positions one may take?
Does the comparative egalitarian critique of social injustice equate to less if one is an atheist rather than a theist? Does ones political beliefs diminsh equally?
Please explain how, showing the step by step process of your workin. I am genuinely fascinated by this line of discourse and eager to hear your explanations and philosophical/reasoned musings on this.

Nothing like barging in on strangers, preaching at them, and finishing off with an insult.

Wow, ktrap. You touch your mother with the same fingers you used to type that bullshit?
She should make sure her shots are up to date.
