I'm not trying to paint you as a bigot and I don't perceive you as one, I really didn't quite get the connection. I still refuse to  take the cologne incident as the defining moment of how we should see the refugee crisis. This was not hordes of syrians molesting women in public because their culture says it's ok (it doesn't), it was an orchestrated criminal effort. That's an important distinction be ause it points towards a different problem.

Your point that Germany might now feel compelled to do certain things because of its past that it otherwise wouldn't do is not lost on me. We're also one of the richest place in the vicinity, that's another factor.

Ok, I admit I might be wrong about this. I'll agree to whatever the evidence shows to be the case.

I ll admit that I myself haven't followed the investigations too closely because I was incredibly busy, but for example abaris pointed to reports that pre written notes were found which explained how to pronounce certain sexual insults. That's striking evidence of something strange going on that is not immediately sexism related, don't you agree?

I don't know what to say. I've also heard of reports about police and media trying to cover it up after the fact. That would be strange as well.

But in any case, certain cultures have certain major problems. Not everyone is born with the same mindset. That's not to blame the people for holding the wrong ideas, that's simply to state the fact that they either weren't educated properly or weren't exposed to the right ideas. This is a real thing. Ignoring this won't do us much good. That's not to say western culture is perfect, but I dare any cultural relativist show me any better one.

- As a side note, there are certain cultural problems even within my own small country. Certainly, a lot of them are being mitigated by the Internet and the fact that we're still in Europe and are thus influenced by European culture to a certain extent, but still.

You know, I've had to listen to a lot of talk about Nazis over the years. I swear, this is the first time someone suggested that the Holocaust was kinda half-assed. You think you've seen it all! But it makes total sense of course... if there is one survivor, the caust's not technically "Holo". Think about it!
In the Bible the God character got really pissed if his minions showed the slightest mercy
when he told them to kill everyone and everything.  You can bet if the God character had told Americans to engage in a genocide they would have killed everyone without a second thought or the slightest hesitation.  One of our favorite activities during WWII was burning people alive.  The Nazis were wimps, which is why they lost the war.

They lost the war because they picked a fight with everyone at once. They had rather weak allies in their own little group and decided to take on not only the Russians and Americans but also the British who could mobilise the resources of their empire and still had the most powerful navy in the world. After lightening war only got them so far they were stuck in a war of attrition that they couldn't possibly win.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.

On a serious note, what purpose would this trial serve? An honest question really, I'm stumped.

So we should halt the justice system until all the big problems are solved? Sounds like a great plan if you don't think about it.
