Very good point. Hey, how about this one..back in the days of bible time, especially old testament time frames, they didnt have toilet paper. So people would wipe their asses with their finger, or some poison ivy, some rocks. I like keeping that in mind when I hear fundies wax poetic about the bible. While they go "blah blah John 3:16 blah blah the bible is the cutting edge of science blah blah" I like to think: I wonder how many shit covered finger tips were writing and touching the pages of Ezekiel? An atheist who doesn't actually listen to anyones thoughts outside their narrow box, that's about as original as this thread has gotten.

We did listen for over a hundred pages and now its on to the knob jokes.

Because in those over 100 pages there wasnt actually any evidence put forward, (unless it crept in while I wasnt looking).

Not any real ecientifically verifiable evidence just, "if this is true then this MUST be true" type arguments.

That's just about the only sort of argument I've ever seen atheists use, too.

Tacky: Certainly true of some people who are atheists.Not true of people BECAUSE they are atheists. Same applies to Christians,even though some people who are also atheists like to use ad hominem attacks on Christians,.

In terms of arrogance,closed mindedness and pure arseholery,people who are Christians outnumber people who are atheists by a factor of 10 at least. Understandable due to relative numbers.

Yeah..an atheist who was a southern baptist for the good part of 25 years of his life. So yeah, I sure live in a narrow box.

I am perfectly willing to check out the evidence for god/gods.

Its that there isnt any that is the issue.

I've heard some 'philosophical' arguments, like the ontological argument etc.

But they are not evidence.

If you work something out by philosophy alone alone you end up with things like humurism that caused many deaths over the centuries and was based on a false assumption.
