That is what your thinking?

Well, yeah. Admittedly, I've had a few 24 oz. cans of 8% beer so my judgement is undoubtedly compromised. But I think a sub-forum, categorizing the Lunars in one place and seeing them treated exactly the same way as theists might ring a bell.

Plus, I agree with Heat in that it would be entertaining. Tin foil hat threads are annoying in the regular forums. They are borderline spam or troll there. A dedicated sub-forum would be a good place for them. What could it hurt?

And you don't see the problem with that? I mean most folks here already go out of their way to point out how cray cray people are in their thinking. Now a forum isn't a country but it sure goes against the grain to just toss in all the "nuttery" as you define it into a sub group targeted for ridicule.

I think it's a crap idea for no other reason that you apply a label to the nuttery before you've even proven it's nuttery. Might, usually, only take one post to do so. But your still condemning them before you'd even heard what they have to say, nuttery or otherwise.

Again, it's a forum, not a nation. So rights don't apply. Just trying to make a case for one.

Oh man, I'd love to be able to write this in my mod voice:

"Moving this thread to the conspiracy theories subforum".

I don't mean this one. I mean some fevered rantings in the future Tongue

Well, I'm now up to 3 of those 24 oz, cans of 8% beer so I am DEFINITELY compromised but I anticipated this response when I was less fucked-up and had prepared my own response: How would the proposed sub-forum differ from what we already have? We have a Christian sub-forum and a Muslim sub-forum. Is a Scooby sub-forum any less valid? I don't see how. If we're going to give Christians and Muslims a sub-forum to argue their insanity, why not one for underground secret bases with alien technology cloned Hitlers building the 4th Reicht? Is that really any more absurd than a woman made from the rib of a man made of clay deceived by a talking snake?

Exactly, at what point do you just lump them all into the "nutter" sub? I mean are any religions not conspiracy worthy? They seem like elaborate hoaxes to me. As soon as you label a sub "nutter" then why have it? Also I'm pretty sure most of the members here have mental notes of what's "nutter" and what's not. I don't think they would require the staff to make the distinction for them.

Also if you believe a conspiracy theory the last place you'd wana put it is in the "nutter" sub. Guess it would make more work for staff, moving the stuff. Hardly seems a good reason though.

If you create a sub that discredits it's threads by it's mere title (perhaps some already do here) then you discourage discussion by pre-judging it. Who would wana post there? Your basically setting up a spam filter that catches idiots, but instead of removing them it opens them to ridicule.

I think personally, even if this never amounted to much legitimacy, or any real "findings" per-se it would be super fucking fun. The way I imagine it would be people suggest conspiracies, back it up with evidence, and then people respond with contradictory evidence, and it divulges in to back and forths about what means what. As in, people suggest theories, and it's up to us to disprove them.

I don't know, thoughts? Agree/disagree?

How do we know that's not part of their plan ??
