We -Middle Eastern people- live in this hell. You never saw Egyptian police, you never experienced the horror of being harassed on a checkpoint under the threat of a gun barrel, knowing that if you ever talk, you'll get tortured, killed, and probably your family will get hurt too.

There's even one of that society, who advertised the butchering of all Egyptian Muslims, he preached that on this forum; and guess what: many like him are already in the army, cops, have weapons, they torture, they kill.

Giulio regeni seems like a decent guy..I knew a British guy in Egypt who was interested in politics too..I hate to see him thrown dead like this..

But you weren't talking about avenging the fallen of some particular political conflict, you were talking about how you're upset by the idea that people you consider immoral aren't subjected to an eternity of conscious torment.

That's the old stupid angered by god argument in a new guise. Honestly, the last time I was angry at god was when I was little and still believed in fairies, ghosts and unicorns. I considered him to be an asshole for everything written in the bible, but since ass was a dirty word, I didn't call him that. Can't be angry at something you don't believe exists, though. Can't misunderstand it either. The facts are piled up against religion and it takes some serious mental acrobatics to still stick with Adam and Eve and accept evolution, the real age of the world and the universe and still make a case for the Christian god. Unless he worked his way up from being amoeba god to dinosaur god, until he found his ultimate calling in becoming human god.

Religious like everyone else? Well, maybe a Eurotrip might be in order. Might open your eyes to how everyone else is religious outside your little - American, I assume - bubble.
