The rich people like to feed the gators. Now they'll go elsewhere for their thrills and the place will lose their high-rollers.

Perhaps they'll assume the water is dirty or that Disney didn't want to be reaponsible for having a lifeguard. People come here from all over the world to go to Disney. How many of them would ever imagine an amusement park would have alligators at the beach?

People from the UK and Germany are often shocked by how much wildlife we have here. Maybe people are idiots for not assuming a place they've never been to has an animal they've never imagined outside a zoo. Maybe they're dumb for not doing more research. I still think the park is responsible. They made a beach with pretty sand and cozy beach chairs. Alligators aren't fish they can walk right up onto the beach and eat whichever kids are closest.

When I go someplace, I assume the restrictions are in place for a reason, and I abide by them.

To me, Disney renting canoes at that pond sends a message that "no swimming" is not about any danger other than the water itself. Perhaps they didn't want to scare customers, but I think they should have had a picture of a gator along with a verbal warning.

As Min has already said, the fact that they are upgrading signage says that there is some admission of the current inadequacy of the ones in place.

The gators were an attraction for the rich people who went there for that express purpose.  They were not considered hazards.  The rich people fed them.  They wanted the gators to have free range.  Since the rich people were paying the bills they got what they wanted.  The poor people from Nebraska were out of their neighborhood where they needed signs and fences to keep them safe.

Here's a way you can enliven your boring life.  Strip the insulation off of an extension cord.  Wrap the bare wires around your neck.  Plug the cord into a socket controlled by a light switch. Turn the switch on.  You won't be bored after that.
