UK to leave EU
#61
RE: UK to leave EU
Gotta try and make myself laugh to put off the inevitable crying.

I'm seriously worried about violence, and not just after weaselling. I'm worried about retribution against leave voters. I hope I'm worrying over nothing, and I'd never advocate such action.

My next door neighbours, who I like, voted leave. I've respected that decision, so I only broke in and pissed on their carpet. I think they'll appreciate that, when they wake up.

We done it! We fucking done it!

And we got that tosser Cameron to resign, so that's a plus.  Tongue

Unless Scotland splits from the UK and votes remain. Then you'll have to move south. Durham would be a nice compromise.

I have no intentions of moving anywhere because Scotland won't be going independent.

It's the remain voters I am more worried about.

@Scotland

Sad

I think they probably will. They only needed a few % before......pretty much giftwrapped it to them with this vote. Here's an interesting question...would you leave if they did, or stay and be a dirty foreigner availing yourself of the EU friendly (or included) benefits?

Well, perhaps yeah. Good point.

Are you saying there won't be another Scottish referendum for independence, or that it will fail?

I think there will be, and it will succeed. And I don't blame them one bit.

I personally think there won't be retribution one way or the other. My guess is that people will just go on with their lives.

Yeah, I think that you're probably right, at least in the majority of cases. Maybe some isolated cases of madness.

Ironic that we wanted to leave Europe but now we could have as many as 2 Europe borders by land.

You know what's scary? That my parents had to live through the same nationalist nightmare - on a much larger scale, of course. As of yet, as a caveat. I never would have thought to have to deal with what my ancestors had to deal with. But now it seems like a very real possibility.

I always considered the UK to be most at risk of being the one to develop a fascist government. Then I read up more on fascism and Trump started to become popular in America. I realised that America's checks and balances could be overcome and that the UK is more a feudal left-over than a fascist government. Now that I see us being dragged out of the EU, the mass slaughter of the disabled, worker's rights trampled and Michael Gove's revisionism of the 1st World War as glorious, I'm beginning to revert to think the UK is most susceptible to fascism now.

Yes, well.

Quote:Brexit has also caused panic on the financial markets today as the pound dropped more than 10 per cent against the dollar and Britain was about to lose its AAA rating.

Scottish voters will shit themselves at the last minute and vote to remain if there is one. And if they get independence which is unlikely, a few years down the line the SNP scum will be begging to get back into the UK.

I will not be moving from my homeland in the event of an Independence vote. And I will always identify as British even in an "independent" Scotland.
