In a single day, the detractors of brexit have had their predictions undeniably, inarguably demonstrated to have been correct...and yet people are saying "wait and see"..  Wait to see -what-?

Everyone I spoke to who voted leave said that we would absolutely see this shock in the short term. Where the 'experts' have it wrong is the medium to long term. People are literally saying this country is irreparably damaged as a result of this. We will bloody wait and see about exactly that.

No, we won't, we've already seen it.  Recovery cant make that money reappear (because you'd still have it, and all of it's interest, regardless of how things go for you in the next few years...and you simply don't now). Think of it like this. If I lost a ten dollar bill...-if- I then worked my ass off to make ten more dollars......I'm still exactly half as rich as I would have been. I haven't gotten anything back. It's gross neutral and a net loss. The "wait and see" camp is banking on the if, not realizing that the if is irrelevant. How was that -if- supposed to happen in the first place? Better trade deals? Not going to happen, and that's no secret.

Perhaps this is what Tibs was referring to when he mentioned that a referendum wasn't a suitable tool for deciding on such matters?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Well, as I said. R.E.S.P.E.C.T, if you know the old song. That's what's required for insults hitting the mark.

I'm actually enjoying myself over all the misunderstood crybabies trying to justify what they just did.

I really didn't want to do this, but when supposedly intelligent people start insulting good honest folk, it pushes my fuck you button.

You are just so, so wrong. I've set a reminder on my phone for this post. I'll be coming back to it in a year's time and we can pick up on who was right.

Until then, ciao, I'm out celebrating the UK's independence!

They're not worth your time. Nothing you say here will change their minds. You, Nap and I will be laughing at them all in a couple of years time.  Smile

Seems to me you're already laughing... like Nero watching Rome burn.

About what?  You seem to think I'm doubting britains ability to go it on it's own, I'm not.   I'm simply stating that losing ten dollars wont, no matter what you do, make you ten dollars richer, which seems to be what the leave campaign managed to convince people of. : scratches head :

Hopefully, we've seen the brunt of of it. Hope in one hand, shit in the other.

When you say you have seen people "saying they like the leave option because they hate immigrants", find me an example of EXACTLY this. Find me one. Preferably it would be from the someone in the 99% of not-far-right-extremists who might well express this view regardless, because they have and always will.

If you can find me an example I'll concede you have cause to think what you do, but I don't honestly think you can.

There's fucking tons of them. It's not as though they don't exist if they can't be thought of of the top of one's head.
