You're looking at it in a vacuum, not to mention disregarding the fluctuation of the companies involved within the 250 index and the values lost in share capitals that a lot of companies rely on, you know, such as construction companies, the ones that lost the most?

You do know how share indexes work don't you? You do realise that when there are massive falls in the markets, people lose money in their investments and pensions that many never see yielded again, right? You realise that many pensions pots are invested within the 250 indexes and indeed the indexes of other countries within the EU, ones that lost more? And that several of those investments will be on the behalf of people who have invested within the UK, probably those like me who are not well off and rely in stable investment pots for their retirement?

It was a catastrophe. Nobody with any sense of how business works could see it as otherwise.And again, I reiterate, I work for a 250 indexed PLC and we lost out, as will our supply chain, as will our customer, as will our shareholders.

Cherrypicking data doesn't help your case. The February data was a separate drop in the market. Since then, it returned to normal and had been climbing until the recent polls showing a Brexit close race, and then again when the vote came in.

Just because the value isn't the worst doesn't mean it's not bad. The chances of recovery in the recent future are also slim, because of the value of the pound.

So you tell me to look at the FTSE 250 index to see where the all damage is being done, so I do, then when i provide figures you say I'm looking at it wrong? Have you been taking debating lessons from GC?

The markets will recover, like you say the markets go up and down all the time, those that lost out yesterday will reap tomorrow and the world will keep turning.....

Isn't it two years from the time they invoke Art. 50?

And what happens if it isn't done?  Or if parliament fails to ratify?  What are the rules for the EU expelling a member state?

The main thing keeping the markets from stabilising at the moment is the announcement by DC and the delay in invoking article 50, it only compounds uncertainty.

Wish they would hurry up and trigger Article 50 already. Get us the hell out.

I don't know how you could determine what the barriers are to recovery today...you've only been penalized for your decision, so far....and it was an enormous sum, the -consequences- of that decision will be paid for when you -actually- leave.

I work for an 250 indexed PLC, I physically see the aftermath at work the day after. But whatever, no skin off my back if you disagree >_>

Tell that to the millions whose pension pots were just devalued to yield much less than they otherwise would have.

Or indeed tell it to the supply chain SMEs who may have lost their businesses as larger businesses within their supply chains contract as a result, which many now will.
