Texas looks to follow UK's example

RE: Texas looks to follow UK's example
It doesn't benefit any of the red states to secede because they're the one that has the most people on welfare.

What's likely to happen in a what-if scenario is America economically crushing the state that left to make an example out of them and then they'd just rejoin the union.

Well, it's already been said that it probably won't happen for now at least. But you know, good luck to the citizens of Texas and any other states who want independence if the day ever comes.

Texas pays more into Federal coffers than it receives. I'm on my phone now, but will link an interactive chart when I get home and such is easier to do.

You might want to google "the American Civil War" ... that is the precedent to which I referred earlier.

It's not that it "probably" won't happen.

It won't happen.

Yuck, "quote" instead of edit.

To add: A large majority of Texans are against such a move.

Okay, I believe you when you say a lot of Texans are against the move but if the majority did support the move and the US didn't give them independence, well let's just say that would be undemocratic to say the least.

Anything is possible, Thump. Give it time.

I am quite tempted to support a #texit movement, in fact I had a dream yesterday that Texas got independence and all citizens got permits to obtain and use nukes, for self defense of course. But I have to resist my temptation, not only because it'd be idiotically pointless but also because self preservation comes first Tongue

That's how stealthy they are.

They're so incredibly stealthy no one in the EU knew they were in the EU. They could've just left and gone about their day, the attention whores.

Just doing exactly what the yanks are doing. Getting involved in their affairs since they're meddling with ours.
