It doesn't benefit any of the red states to secede because they're the one that has the most people on welfare.
What's likely to happen in a what-if scenario is America economically crushing the state that left to make an example out of them and then they'd just rejoin the union.

Well, it's already been said that it probably won't happen for now at least. But you know, good luck to the citizens of Texas and any other states who want independence if the day ever comes.

Okay, I believe you when you say a lot of Texans are against the move but if the majority did support the move and the US didn't give them independence, well let's just say that would be undemocratic to say the least.
