Based on that statement I can only repeat what I already said. You obviously don't have anything to lose. Or order too many pints at the pub, for that matter. Otherwise you would - or at least should - care for all the other single currency, economical / trade stuff.
Not any more I don't. I quit Germany after 10 years and came to NZ instead

Yep - because even though the profits may not trickle down, the losses surely do.

But, do you really think they didn't ask for an interpreter in the UK, if you didn't speak english? Would be pretty hard if applying for a job.

Oh, the profits do trickle down. Diarrhea style. As in the ones making the profits taking a dump on the rest of us.

my point was only that when living in the UK (I am British), I regularly received info from the local council in about 30 different languages, with English somewhere near the back (Urdu happened to be at the front). In Germany, the message was: speak German or get your own interpreter if you want to talk to us.

Which they provide if you ask for it. My father did the job for hungarians. In Austria, but the provisions aren't that different.

Sure, but I never received or saw any documentation from German authorities in any language other than German in the 10 years that I live there.

So, Britain handles matters differently. Tough, and your point is?

My point was that Britain handles matters differently. Which, it could be argued, doesn't encourage integration, which, it could be argued, adds to the kinds of sentiments that were whipped up by the leave campaigners, which, it could be argued, led to the terrible decision to leave the EU.
Mind you, in 20 years' time when Britain is doing fine and everything has adjusted and reached a stable equilibrium again, the emotion of these days in the immediate aftermath, will be long forgotten.
