The injustice would be a huge burden to carry. A lot would depend on how your life in prison panned out. Subject to a depraved regime you'd be a different person to someone who managed to foster some respect and be given room to heal.
Life seems to be an exercise in self control sometimes.
Coming out of this situation having mastered your own skeletons seems like the best possible outcome to me.
To go kill the guy would make you as bad as him so you lose more than him. Maybe he turned around, maybe his avoidance of the law made him uber corrupt.

Yeah I think so, given my experience. Given the recovery time especially. Heat of the moment... might be different.. but you removed that option.

I have much easier problems with people who have done the dirty on me over my life. I can easily find myself plotting revenge, but control that and stay positive instead... because I think: why let their bad deed make me sink to depravity. I don't want to be like them. I have to conquer that... then I'm the winner. People pass on bad stuff that's done to them, breaking that cycle is the best we can do, I recon.

If I was wrongly jailed for years for something I didn't do whilst the arsehole runs free, I'd be a completely different person. My only purpose would be to kill him and as painfully and slowly as possible. Then die myself. The hate I'd have for the injustice would be too great and life would lose all value to me. I'll seek justice then I'll seek peace.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
