@Bella I found it surprisingly easy to quit tbh. I just stopped. Surprised how quickly my lung power returned actually.

Yeah, I read on several sites that breathing and lung capacity can actually improve in just 72 hours in most cases, and obviously even more in time. I wouldn't describe myself as a particularly heavy smoker, so quitting should be slightly easier. But we'll see.

I wasn't heavy either, so you should be fine. I actually didn't smoke for that long though, only a year

I was a pack-of-Camels-a-day smoker for 25ish years with a couple year break 15 years ago. I quit early August last year.
Even after all that abuse I felt noticeably better within a week or so. I used to get sick frequently - bronchitis and such - but I haven't been the least bit sick respiratory wise since I quit.
Good luck to you! It's worth it.
