Osama may be dead.

RE: Osama may be dead.
Enough about 9/11? I'm sorry, I thought that's why we were after Osama to begin with, hence it was relevant to the discussion.

I fixed that so it's bearable to read... I'm fine with people discussing a relevant thing to the discussion... but the 9th of november is absolutely not relevant to this discussion and america needs to catch up with the rest of the world in this case. Whenever did this M/D/Y idiocy even start? 0.o

I don't know, but forgive me for being an uncouth American and saying I'm not going to change it since there doesn't seem to be a problem otherwise communicating what I'm talking about.

... this is because nothing interesting ever happens in November. I almost want to make a terrorist attack of my own on 9/11/01 *JUST TO GET THEM TO STOP PERPETUATING AN OUTDATED AND RIDICULOUS SYSTEM THAT MAKES NO SENSE*.

I'm american too.... maybe I should start a cult over this and absorb america.

And is TOTALLY important to worry about...right after, to quote Lew, "are we eating too much garlic as a people?"

Yes, it is quite important. The entire world has bowed to america's calendar simply because it occurred in america. If china (or some other weird place, hell if I know: I'm indoctrinated) uses a different system, would we use their system to note the day of a horrible event in their country? Absolutely not, because we are fucking american and we do whatever the fuck we please for no rational reason.

It's as moronic as declaring the Normandy invasion by sea 'D-Day'. Except I'm pretty sure the whole west is responsible for that stupidity. Maybe I'm not giving america's stupid enough credit.

I refer to it as D-day. Semantics are ridiculous. A thing is what it is, not matter what you call it.

And a chicken is a banana? Fact is that intersubjective things are identified by their name. If the name given is misleading: it needs to change. As it turns out, D-day and 9/11 are misleading.

And yes, 12-hour time is also ridiculous.
