God and resting

RE: God and resting
Indeed Big Grin

That's why there are as many versions of Christianity as there are Christians, and as many gods as there are theists. If it's meant to be something to do with reality, and not just how they would like reality to be, it astounds me this doesn't bother people more.

Yes , He is omnipresent in past, present, and future but he decided at that moment to take a walk in the garden because it was cool out. Wouldn't want to get overheated would we?

That is describing part of the pleasantness in their relationship and describing the time of day they would meet. You're trying to make something out of nothing more than a time of meeting.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Wow. You gleaned all of that from Scripture, huh?
If you say so, GC.

It clearly reads that they hid themselves from from His presence, but...potato/po-tah-to, I guess!

Not the only time Biblical God appears to "find out" stuff, or doesn't seem to know what happens next;
But, I suppose your explanation of "No...He's just kidding." makes more sense. Wink

 I wasn't trying to make excuses here, just because they "tried" to hide doesn't mean they were successful does it. I can remember trying to stay hidden from my parents after I did something wrong, why, because I figured someone would inform them. Answer this why did they hide if they thought God did not know, you seem to believe they believed He didn't. They knew Him personally and you can bet they knew His powers, after all one day they just were, full grown adults able to speak a language and have an understanding of the world around them.

You are trying to make a fairy tale into a detailed historical account. I am not trying to do anything but amuse myself at the expense of an adult who repeats childish tales and uses threats of mortal sickness and eternal suffering as leverage.

 Actually I'm not trying to leverage anything, I'm stating what the Bible says and what I know to be the truth even if you do not.

 Why forget it? We usually have good conversations and why were you just talking? I like seeing your opinions. May not be back here till Monday, just depends on how tomorrow goes.

You can rationalize your threats anyway you wish. You are not the first theist to point out the suffering of others as evidence for your irrational world view. For thousands of years people like you actually took the role of god as torturer into their own hands. If it were not for the rise of reason into our culture christians would be torturing witches and heretics in the public square today. At least now all you have is the random events of aging and sickness from which to draw your scary visions from. I know I will sicken and die. Perhaps as an old man , perhaps as we speak. I am free from the troubling thoughts which would add suffering on top of suffering. Your church sounds like it might be like visiting a Halloween Haunted House. Full of haunted people and imaginary ghosts. Tremble away , man!
