I Love You Enough to Burn You
|
Quote:but hey - never forget, god loves you ..... and you deserve hell ................ for being born.I love that. It's such a big contradiction, and yet they still deny it. All loving and endless punishment = CONTRADICTION. God is either all loving or he's not. Just as you cannot have dry rain, or squarecircles. It's one way or the other. Either god is all loving, or he's a complete prick. Religion really is littered with faulty logic and contradiction. It's harder to support a lie than to support a truth. Supporting a lie means constantly making shit up whilst trying to keep it consistent with no contradiction, fail and it will collapse in on itself.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence - Carl Sagan
Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity. Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist. You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them. DUDE! What the fuck! You just said the equivalent of "If you don't love God, you'll burn in a place of ultimate terror." Talk about motherfucking emotional blackmail. Clearly this "God" has no sense of neutrality. RE: I Love You Enough to Burn You

I will die, I regard my offspring from the point of view of wanting an affirmation and continuation for myself because this behavior encourages me to nurture my offsprings. This is why I feel hurt. My genes are less likely to pass on and my line more likely to go extinct if I am not so made. Why was god made this way? If god plan to die soon and is hoping that I will carry on his memory and is predisposed to conduct himself in a way that would allow his genes to carry on, then I would understand if he feels hurt. Otherwise his "hurt" would seem to be the ruse of a vain, shallow, manipulative, despotic and not a little emotionally afeminent tyrant. BTW, if god plans to die, let me know because I want to be there to throw the first fire brand onto the funeral pyre and take my share of the inheritence. That's a prize worth the showing of some love in his remaining days. Did he banish the concept of eternal torment? No. Therefore did he do everything? No. Why not? Because he is menifestly not all powerful and need to issue threats to effect desired result. If god never turns his back, then anyone could go to hell, weigh the the torment of the singed hair against the burden of loving a god whose back is not turned, and be out of lake of fire and up on a cushion of clouds caressing Jesus in a jiffy. If he is omniscient and omnipotent, then whose fault is it if he can't even make the children he creates love him? If he deem the loving of himself by his creation to be a good thing desireable in all his creations, then how sadly lacking must be his quality assurance and control if his junk pile is so big that it requires its own manager and an entire lake of fire to accommodate? And how benevolent is a god who would burn your tiny little testicle in a lake of fire forever to relieve his own frustration at his own sad lack of quality assurance and quality control? It seems like god lack even the good grace to resign to take responsibility for his incompetence. Should have left CC along, fr0d, it looked a hell of a lot better for your religion than what in your opinion is actually said. Jesusfuckingchrist Frodo, where do I begin? there's so much here that is so easily shot down. For now I'll just agree with Chuck and return to this in a bit. I have to get my son some dinner. wow ..... how do you keep a straight face when you write that nonsense?????????
Yours is a construct with no justice Chuck. If you don't have consequences for wrongdoing then you don't care if your child does wrong/ you're happy for them to be in pain without any hope from yourself for their happiness. How can you reason that to be preferable?
@ Moros: No I said "you" punish yourself ... you choose to rebel against good and receive your just deserts. (May 6, 2011 at 4:59 pm)fr0d0 Wrote: Yours is a construct with no justice Chuck. How can you reason that to be preferable? The consequences for right and wrong don't have to be determined by a god. We as human beings should have our own moral feelings and be able to determine this ourselves. Sure some people don't, some people are arseholes, but that's just the way it is. Sometimes people commit crimes and they get away with it. Thats just the way it is. Sure its not fair, but just because it's not fair doesnt mean that we have to believe some god is going to bring down divine justice after people die.
