Tbh I don't aspire to treat every post objectively. I do try to treat people fairly though.
Yeah I know... that kinda came out wrong really. Objectively's too strong a word... I don't mean Spock-like; just unaffected by bias, assumptions, and expectations.

Well, you must've been living under a rock for the past year, but people think I'm an asshole and I don't want them to think that.
Try this.

The idea of a particular sub forum where this could take place sounds OK to me, otherwise I think it's generally a bad idea. It's sock puppetry, which we don't allow and for good reason.
Personally, I'm willing to give anyone a chance no matter what they've been like in the past. But they have to earn it. They don't just get to say "I'm different now". (I'm not talking about EP in particular here; anyone.) If someone is genuinely different, it won't even need stating. I keep an eye on people now and again to see if they are making an effort.

There it is again. Your usual response.
Yes. And?

One idea would be to require a login but have a sub-forum for anonymous posts. That way the admins & mods would know who posted what but no one else would.
Of course, if someone wants to post anonymously, there are forums out there that allow that, in fact, "Onion" forums with hidden addresses, but I would avoid those, as there is quite of bit of evil things in the Deep Web (drugs, illicit porn, terrorism, etc.)

Actually, most of the "Onion" forums require you to register an account. You've just got the layer of anonymity through Tor but people can still connect your posts to you.
By anonymity in this context, EP and others mean what you said in your first sentence. It would just come up "Anonymous" but moderators would still be able to see the account name or the IP.

There's also 4chan if you want to bother with that mess.
I don't believe you. Get over it.

But I'm a nice guy, really. I think I just had a run of bad luck here and it's constantly haunting me.But if you end up hating me too, then it's official. There is something wrong with me and I'm not even aware of it ...
First of all, I echo the sentiments of others in that you seem to be self-regulating your behavior and making more positive contributions. However, I find it hard to believe you don't know WHY people turned against you. It was because you took a hostile tone. In my case, you insulted me, then apologized, then repeated almost the exact same insult right after that.
But that's just for clarification, in case you REALLY couldn't see what was happening. I've come to agree with you on some things, and my estimation of you has risen, so hopefully those positive contributions will really be the new norm.

And, I apologize for not being clear on what I meant. The sub-form user names would not appear as "anonymous" to the mods & admins, but would have the user's regular name, just as they always do. Only "us" would see "anonymous"; the mods would not need to do anything special at all.
