I hate it when people don't understand what being a fundamentalist means. It means you believe in the fundamental teachings of the religion. It is not necessarily a bad thing at all. Nobody would say, "that guys is such a bad football player, he practices the fundamentals of the game too much." A Christian Fundamentalist believes in and puts emphasis in...

1. Faith Alone, Christ Alone, Grace Alone, Scripture Alone, and Glory to God Alone.
2. The Triune God of the Bible.
3. Jesus was the Son of God, God incarnate and was the foretold Messiah.
4. The teachings of Christ and of the apostles in their letters.
5. You have to be a Republican to get into heaven....ok that's only a joke

The typical definition of fundie around here is usually -

Yes, unfortunately it's a term that has taken on a meaning that does not really match the literal meaning of the word. It can make things very confusing I think.

The answer is that I don't believe God had anything to do with it as I have no belief in God. You, however, made the assertion that God helped this country rise, but why would he do that all the while the natives were being slaughtered for this country to exist? If you want to make the claim that God was involved in the creating of this country, you have to explain why he was active in the building of a country whose foundation was the blood of the innocent. Why didn't God wipe his hands clean of the whole dirty mess? It's because you are American, and you believe God loves the same things you do. This allows you to avoid criticizing whether the foundation of this country actually fits into your God's ideals.

Then you claim God is not responsible for the action of ignorant men, but somehow he was responsible for the founding of this country, which was founded by the same ignorant men. You're simply trying to have your cake and eat it too.

Very insightful Tack. I see you have been paying close attention. As I have said before, I dont mind the cool Christians... it's the FUNDIES I cant stand.


Cool christians dont try to force their beliefs unto you, and usually have a sense of humor about their beliefs (something that I HIGHLY respect).
