Just sharing this because I find it entertaining.

I just don't feel like everything the left seems to be doing now in terms of reactions is helpful.

Think it over. Think. Don't dwell. Act. Don't finger point. Understand.

Sure, keep the fires burning. I'm sure "the left" won't notice and pull out their version of Trump on you next time. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Finger pointing goes both ways.

First of all I'm not even American , but I do identify with the left on all the relevant issues.

I'm sure this will keep itself contained to America. Sure it will.

That's what we've all been saying.  Sanders should have been on the ticket.  I take the blame even though I voted for Sanders, and even contributed to his campaign.  I know where he fault lies.  At least I won't say "hey, it's not MY fault".  Yeah, it's fucking my fault.  Did you watch the video?  I'm not sure you did.  Because you just did what he said caused it all.  Making it Hillarys side vs Trumps side.

We all live in an echo chamber thanks to FB and such.  Almost all of us.  I guess people hear what they want, and tune out the rest.  It's really pretty exhausting.  I know I do it all the time, it's really hard to make myself stop, but I'm trying to, right now.  But it's hard when everyone is angry and yelling at the "other" side.  I'm taking a good, hard look in the mirror and realizing that

But don't worry, it's not your fault, you didn't even vote for either of them, so you can safely wash your hands of it. (there, see, I just did it again too, but I don't know how not too.  We are all deplorable).  Undecided

I watched. A lot of what he said was stuff that I was already thinking and trying to explain on the protest thread, mainly saying that everyone who votes for Trump is a racist, bigot, sexist, etc. That's just pushing people away.

PS- It's not your fault, as you said you voted Bernie in the primaries.

I get you are trying to be nice and make me feel better (thanks, btw), but this is just missing the point entirely.  Who I voted for, or didn't vote for, does not absolve me of guilt.  Like the video says, we are all acting divisive.  But I don't know how else to be.  It's great for Trump to say what's on his mind, but those of us who tell bigots they are bigots are the problem? It makes no sense, but it's true.  It turns out we need to tolerate the intolerant.  That racists, bigots, etc. need to be allowed to mouth off, but if I speak my mind and call them out, then I've just "pushed them away" and Trump is my fault now.  We need to be all open and understanding of the people who aren't open and understanding of others.  ??  I guess  ???

Not directed at you CL, at all, just stream of consciousness about what the guy in the video said.

Nothing makes ANY sense.  I need a break from thinking about the election.  The whole world is fucked once he kills the EPA and deregulates everything and destroys all the climate change accords, so inequality won't matter anyway soon enough.  That's the best takeaway I have right now.

Ok, I'm getting a bit hysterical again, so I need to go.  Peace all.

He makes some good points alright.  Apparently the fucking deplorables just don't find shame convincing.  What do they think, that I'm going to sink into the morass of their ideas to find what counts as a reason to them to vote for Hillary?  Or maybe we should have conceded that Hillary has no credentials as a 'change' candidate.

I just escaped a backass fucking country as homophobic, misogynistic,  dumb and bigoted as you can get. Plus religious as fuck.

What will keep itself contained in America ? I just hope it doesn't ruin the whole West. But it might. I don't know.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I think the point is, rather, to be the bigger person among imbeciles. When you get offended by their idiocy you're not doing anyone any favors. Treat them according to their level of intelligence. We don't get mad at children when they're nasty little shits who cause trouble all the time, or at least we don't blame them. We try and steer them right. We should do the same with the bigots of this world. Because we know better. There's nothing wrong with being aware of that fact.
