Exactly.
But they have to subscribe to any given constitution, of course. They're there for a reason as a Covenant for the particular nation and it's values.

That's fine. I never put a number to any of this, or said whether it would be the majority or minority or whatever. If families have been here for a while and lead a good life, etc, they should be allowed to stay here. I don't care how many or how little that is.

What's all this "been here awhile with anchor babies" business? I thought it was about being willing to integrate?
I'm trying to help you understand that the narrative you've been handed -about- illegals is false from the top to the bottom, and it's been sold by those folks you don't like to hear me call by name. You say you don't have a problem with x, and ofc x describes illegals in actuality, but as soon as you're made aware of that you pivot. The very fact that you made the objection in the first place tells me what sorts of shit you've been listening to.....and hey, it's not your fault. Those People are screeching loons with microphones, and now...lol....the office of the presidency.

It's about all of it. Being willing to integrate is one part. If some dude crosses the border illegally today, gets caught, and just says "I'm willing to integrate", it doesn't mean we should just let him stay.
My stance on this is the same as Abaris. Not sure why you're arguing with me but not him.
Also, I never used the term anchor babies.

Taking a good hard look at who's here and who's willing to be integrated. In the case of illegals, how long are they already here, where did they come from and what record do they have. There have been several cases of villages uniting and fighting for certain families of illegals when the authorities turned up to deport them. It also shines a light on human perception. These people came to know the ones living amongst them. As opposed to the populatio at large only going by the fear mongering narratives.

It's about all of it. Being willing to integrate is one part. If some dude crosses the border illegally today, gets caught, and just says "I'm willing to integrate", it doesn't mean we should just let him stay. "All of it", huh? Sounds like you might be erecting the sort of labyrinth that leads people to cross illegally in the first place. Laying aside that this is -not- how that happens, lol.....why not? Why not? We need him. There's work to be done. He's willing to do it. He's going to spend that money on goods that others provide. His payroll taxes will fund our social programs that he can;t even avail himself of. He wants to be here, and fuck me I wouldn't..if I were him. What....is....the...problem?

You're a big girl, you don't need abaris to deflect me or defend -your- statements. You don;t have to call them anchor babies..but if they;re an illegals path to getting the a-ok...by you...to stay, that;s what they are. OFC, I also like using the term to force you to face what you'd rather not.

Right, I get what you're saying. You think everyone who is able to skip the system and get here illegally, should be allowed to stay so long as they haven't committed a crime. I think that's terribly unreasonable and makes no sense, and I disagree. I don't see the point in regulating borders at all if we do that.
Now, I'm asking for FNM's opinion on this. I already know where you stand.

What's unreasonable about it? Why should being too poor to get here legally, and being here, be a crime in the first place? Maybe if they could get here they could afford the process. Isn't that why they come, and put up with all of this shit?

Is that all a border does, in your mind? Is that all it's for? Some line that creates criminals out of immigrants once crossed? Because unless that's all you see...then your comment is nonsense.

Of course...unless you care to argue that the US is a Christian nation.
Seriously, what's your point? That all nations with some Christians in them should be expected to take unlimited immigrants from poorer nations?
I think his point is that the lack of compassion for the poor isn't something your little deity would like ... if he were even real. I think his point is that you Christians talk a great deal about how your faith makes you a better person, makes you moral -- and yet here you are singing at the top of your lungs "don't come around here!" to these immigrants because -- because -- money?
It's kinda like how so many Christians are against universal health care. Y'all talk a good game, but so often, and we've seen it here in this thread, so often it's apparent that all your talk about how Jeebus makes you better and more moral is just a bunch of horseshit. I think that's his point.
Forgive me for running my mouth, FNM.

The thing is though, we can/should help the poor by our personal services... giving to charity, volunteering, etc. Not necessarily by counting on the government to do it in a way that the person may believe is probably not very effective and may end up doing more harm than good.
Personally I think there should be a good balance, but I understand the perspective of others and it doesn't necessarily mean they're being anti Christian.
