Active Shooter Situation at Ohio State

RE: Active Shooter Situation at Ohio State
That being said, even if he was clinically insane, that doesn't validate his actions. I know that if I were one of the kids who he endangered I wouldn't give a shit what was wrong with him, I'd be happy he was gone.

There is a difference between "happy he's gone" and "happy he's no longer a threat".

Let's not confuse piety with idiocy.

True but it a least explains the why

I'm happy he was stopped I'm sad he's dead

Why does it make you more angry than the Charleston attacker, who was a homegrown rightwing nutter? As so many before him. Among them the Bundy bunch, who got away with - not actually killing someone - but occupying government facilities while voicing death threats?

It doesn't make me more angry, per se. Innocent lives being taken is horrendous regardless. But yes, it does make me a particular kind of irritated when we take someone in and they turn around and try to kill us.

To use an analogy, it's like... what's worse: Someone breaks into your house and kill your family? Or someone you take into your home to give shelter to turns around and kills your family?

Both our awful and infuriating, but the latter arouses a particular type of anger.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Your reasoning seems to come from a place of selfishness rather than a place of understanding. And that is sad.

I have very little empathy for somebody willing to do something like this. That might make me insensitive. I don't particularly care.

Because this asshat was granted a life in this country that was a million times better than what he had. What does he do with such a gift? He murders people in a terrorist attack.
