Anti-Matter at CERN

Ditto. And I form a sort of one-man cult following of the Film.

One thing both the book and the film did was to inspire me to start writing a science thriller which combines some of the cool elements Dan Brown uses with a less bogus philosophical and scientific angle. It's still in its infancy because I don't have time to write for fun, but I have a relatively clear vision.

Penny: 'So, how was work?'

Leonard: 'Well, I'm a physicist, so mostly I thought about stuff.'

Penny (surprised): 'That's all?'

*pause*

Leonard: 'Well, I wrote some of it down.'

Hehe. BBT was so nice in the beginning, before it turned into a tedious run off the mill relationship drama.

As a trained Sheldon physicist (that's what I now tell everyone instead of theoretical physicist), I must say that strictly speaking, that would be Sheldon's job description. Leonard is the experimental physicist of the bunch, so you'd expect him to fiddle with data or experimental setups. Maybe he's a very thought-heavy experimentalist Smile

I enjoy BBT, but I still think Dilbert is the more accurate description of reality.

I only watch BBT out of commitment now. It hasn't really been overtly funny for a couple of seasons. It first seemed like a huge nerdy inside joke, now they've sort of expanded the viewing audience so much that there are very few of those moments any more.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Raj's ambiguous sexuality is fun, and I've only recently started watching BBT, so I'm watching an eclectic mix of old and new episodes on several channels.

Leonard's parents are hysterical, Sheldon's mom could be more sharply drawn, but at the risk of aggravating fundies I suppose.

Granted, as a homo, I'm no expert on women's attractiveness and sex appeal, but I'll still ask, is Penny all that 'hot' ??

Not unusually so, and there are some episodes in which she gets a more classically stunning rival - but once Mayim Bialik joins the staff, she automatically becomes hotter by contrast.

Hot compared to Amy? Ok. But she has a permanently croaked mouth.
