This is pretty upsetting to me, although if she does really act like this, perhaps it's best she doesn't have a child

Guys.....isn't this going a bit too far?

First amendment guaranties her right to a BIBLICAL bitter herb abortion.
Anyone want to amend the constitution to prohibit that ?????????????????? Maybe we should have a poll ? The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

The reason is horrible of course, but then again, someone who seriously considers aborting their fetus because of a presidential inauguration doesn't exactly sound like parent material...
--- Oh shit, did the inauguration break Brian?
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

But her kid shouldn't have to suffer the consequences (death) of her being an idiot. A lot of people don't turn out like their parents.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

Right, but now we're not talking about anything more than a clump of cells. It's not a kid. She just found out she's pregnant yesterday. Equivocating all abortions to fully formed fetuses is simplistic and problematic.
If I were her, this wouldn't be bothersome. But I am not her. This might be a projection of other, more serious emotions, and ultimately, it is her decision.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Without the biblically assured soul, it is most decidedly not a 'kid'.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

I was referring to "kid" as the general term of "her offspring." Like, I am my mom's kid, an infant is his mom's kid, my mom is my grandma's kid, etc. Not an age thing.

Her reasoning, by my lights, is weak and insufficient. But it's her pregnancy, not mine.
