Or could it be that the original rule was flawed and overly restrictive. Has anyone read the original rule? It extends further than just "mentally ill".
Not sure if this is a good reference or not: http://www.snopes.com/social-security-re...ning-guns/ Repealing it was still a mistake. It should have been re-written with more specific details of what qualifies for reporting. And this gun guy is still in favor of stricter gun control.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Ok, so based on the Snopes article and a little casual web searching I did myself, the disorder most often that falls into the category of 'severe mental illness' is long-term schizophrenia. Some of the more common symptoms are: hallucinations, false perceptions of reality, paranoia, bizarre behaviours, delusions, depressions, anxiety, anger/rage, and sudden, uncontrollable shifts in mood. Yup. These are the people you want packing a Glock. Boru

Again, repealing was a mistake. A rewrite should have been done.

It's a bullshit policy designed to disarm the law abiding members of society.
Nah it's really hard to get hold of guns in the UK. Because they're illegal. They don't sell them everywhere in stores.
