"Jackboot thugs" is a term, that in the UK at least, I have only ever seen associated with the right. It seems odd to have it pointed at left leaning people.

Could be that theist has just let slip that the violence was caused by agents provocateur. Turned out in the UK at least that protesting would have been a lot less violent only for a group of undercover rozzers whose remit essenitally was "make anti-government and big business protestors look like they're doing illegal stuff, so as we can brand them dangerous loons". Given what the Republitraitors and the Feds have done to now, I'd be surprised if that isn't tbe case with a lot of these groups too.

Given the above definition I have no problem with social justice.

That's not how it plays out though. SJWs typically are advocating deference by demographics. As for the definition above, who assigns those societal roles or decides what is due to one group from another? It seems that SJWs are happy to tell other people what they owe to others based on their definitions of 'privilege' and 'victim status'.

And that's the problem. Justice is an individual case-by-case thing. You can't group people together (except in very narrowly specified class-action lawsuits) as if everyone in that group is equally deserving of compensation or equally responsible to distribute. That's the opposite of justice.

I've been listening to Gavin for quite a while, and really don't know why there is so much outrage over him. Sure he differs in opinion and ideology from the American left, but what's the ruckus all about. It's almost like people get upset for the purpose of just complaining about everything these days.
