Nope, think about it, it literally means "Same Fear". That makes sense to you? It's just name calling and it doesn't prove a thing.

Use a dictionary for the term. Then read your bible and tell me it doesn't promote homophobia.

It's not a word in my dictionary, it's was coined by the left. No, I don't believe scripture shows anymore antipathy towards homosexuals than any other sinner.

You don't write dictionaries statler and you sure don't choose what goes in it. It says it's a sin. That makes it homophobic.

No I literally meant it is not a word in the Webster's dictionary I am holding in my hands.
So? It also says adultery is a sin, is the Bible cheaterphobic? Murder is a sin, is the Bible homicidalphobic? It says that bestiality and incest are sins, is the Bible animalphobic and relativephobic? It's a ridiculous argument to try and make Horseman.

Come on statler, homosexuality doesn't hurt anyone like murder or adultery.

Saying men who love other men is a sin is ridiculous. These people cannot help their feelings. Incest on the other hand, I agree is wrong but putting homosexuality in the same boat is frankly moronic.

I will give you one thing though 5thHorseman, I think Christians got too caught up in the whole homosexuality thing. Rather than showing the same opposition to it as all sins, we seemed to make it worse than other sins, this has given many the impression that we hate gays or something like that. I don't believe gays are any worse or better than anyone else, we are all sinners desperately in need of grace. Do I support the homosexual lifestyle? Nope, I think it's sinful. Do I hate gays? Nope, I have a few friends who are gay, but I treat them with love and kindness because they too are made in the image of God.

Incest doesn't hurt anyone either and yet we both agree it is wrong, I feel it is wrong for the same reasons homosexuality is.

Your signature includes the words
Quote:THE TWO TENANTS OF ATHEISM

"God does not exist...and I hate him."
I'm an atheist, and I've never received any rent from these tenants.

The word you're grasping for is "tenets" (but your sentiment is wrong nevertheless.)
As Geoffrey Chaucer once wrote: 'Whose house is of glass, must not throw stones at another.'

I agree that MANY Christians are asssholes. I do not agree that MOST are. I do not wish to speak for Deist Paladin, but I am willing to bet that he and other Deists agree with me that most Christians display Deistic tendencies when really confronted about their beliefs. Homophobia and arrogance is something that ANYBODY can fall victim to, regardless of religious belief. I agree that Atheists tend to be drastically LESS homophobic than the god believers.

Yes... lets all be good atheists...yet...I did not say that you should not respond to that unending stream of religious drivel. I was merely pointing out something that needs to be pointed out:

PICK AND CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTS

That work mate KNEW I was an atheist. Therefore the context is "He has already heard me declare my non-belief" a decade ago. I pick and choose my fight and prefer friendship with someone who is easy going and NOT fundy. Life is short. The less enemies you have, the better off you are. The more friends you have...well....do I need to explain it to you? As far as the "drivel that permeates every corner of society", I am only one man. Yes, I am open about my disbelief, but the more friends I have will mean the more COMRADES I will have when an UNCOOL Christian comes across my path.

Live and let live is the mantra of American society... regardless of what the Glenn Beck types have lead you to believe.

As much as I do sarcasm, this was not sarcasm. This was a very honest recounting of reality for me today. Perhaps you can blame it on me thinking that I am "Jeremy" instead of "Jeremy the atheist", but I cant help but confront reality like that. Would you prefer to work around "Bob", or "Bob the fundy Christian"? How about "Bob the ultra-orthodox right wing teabagging evangelical"? Do you think they want to work around "Jeremy the uber-absurdist progressive materialist"?
