Will they be eagerly awaiting him in the year 3000? If so, what about five thousand years from now? Ten thousand years?

I'm waiting as long as it takes.

Are you always waiting or do you spend a part of each day not waiting? Is this your main focus? Are there any moments in your life where you live as if Jesus returning is not an issue?
God thinks it's fun to confuse primates. Larsen's God!

Thank you for your thoughtful reply, sir.  In your opinion, are humans, or at least those people who choose to think about reality in a religious/theistic manner,  fully capable of objectively distinguishing between worshiping a true God and not some God that was formed/created in their minds? How would practitioners of religion/theism be able to honestly differentiate between the two? Is this ultimately where faith comes in?

Haha, but remember he loves us. This is the type of shit that really pisses me off. threats threats and more threats.
Believe in him, love him, or burn.
I mock God, he deserves it, and leaves himself wide open to it.

Hello, sir.  I recall a quote from the movie Inherit The Wind (1960):"religion is supposed to comfort people, not frighten them to death." Bertram Cates.

Now, with all do respect to you, sir, would you say that your post is reflective of your deity's love?  Or, is it a reflection of your feelings toward certain people who choose to mock your beliefs or are disrespectful toward you in other ways? Or, do you have another explanation, sir?  Thanks and live long and prosper, sir.

But threats and scare tactics have kept people in the church for centuries.

They can no longer burn heretics at the stake, or torture them until they confess their "sins", so threats are the only thing some of them have left.

Think of it, if you will, as the toothless old dog barking at you from behind the safety of his fence.

It seems like they're going to wait until they've wasted their lives away.

Hate to pick at the thread title, but 'Christians' en masse clearly have a very long wait indeed, excepting of course those followers in the one True Correct Schism.

Any idea yet on which one it is? We been waiting quite while to clear this up . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
