It's arrogant to assume the only way to deal with poverty in the developing world is for westerners to adopt a few "lucky" children.

There's a really good reason for that.

The reason is this:

we can't solve our own problems, we can't make them solve our problems for us, so we can only wax indignant about why they try to do their own thing, and not feel guilty about what we want them to feel guilty about in such a way that they will solve for us the problems we can't solve ourselves.


Please note while most people have goodness, appealing to other people's goodness as the main way to solve your own major problems is probably a loser. If you don't know this, you will probably never solve your own bigger problems.

I'm irked with Fred Hampton's inability to post a coherent narrative or position on his "evidence".

Slapping us with a bunch of quotes doesn't an argument make.

And unfortunately, I still don't see what's wrong on Madonna's part. If anything, I see an attempt to hold her accountable for the troubles of an entire continent.
