LOL! Reminds me of Mariosep.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.
It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.
Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll

~ Pim van Lommel, noted NDE expert
You see a contradiction between my statements and Van Lommel statement.
I don't.
Where is the contradiction Yog?
A special state of consciousness doesn't have necessary be a state in which the consciousness is still inside the brain so to speak.
Van Lommel does not say whether the consciousness is still inside the brain or it has separated from it and beside when he say.........the reported memory.... that doesn't mean that the remember of that experience must come from the brain.
Fail again Yog.

You presume that an NDE can happen when a patient is not having a flatlined ECG.
Wrong presumption Yog.
In that case you have an hallucination not a real NDE because the consciousness hasn't separated from the body-brain yet.
Only when you get a fletlined ECG you can have an NDE experience.
This yog show how ignorant you are on the issue.
The Near-Death Experience (NDE) may be defined as "A lucid experience associated with perceived consciousness apart from the body occurring at the time of actual or threatened imminent death."
~ Dr. Jeffrey Long, founder of NDERF
If you read these experiences you will find that these people who had an NDE really died during such an experience.
So far I haven't read any example of a person that had an NDE when he-she was threatened with imminent death but again the fear of death could have be fatal to that person and he-she may have really died after that scare.
Here once again there is no contradiction with my previous statements.
Only fools see one.
Quote:A near-death experience, or NDE, is a profound psychological event that may occur to a person close to death or who is not near death but in a situation of physical or emotional crisis. Being in a life-threatening situation does not, by itself, constitute a near-death experience. It is the pattern of perceptions, creating a recognizable overall event, that has been called “near-death experience.”
~ International Association Of Near Death Studies
Making up your own definitions when you get cornered again. It's pathetic.
How stupid can you be yog.
You go looking and looking day and night with a torch for statements that may contradict me and then you lift up the flag of victory saying that because this or that person got a different opinion I am wrong.
We got a myriad of opinions for and against that doesn't mean that because a particular opinion doesn't agree with me I am wrong.
To find me wrong you got to produce evidence that I am really wrong not coming up with someone opinion that say that I am wrong.
You never thought about that Yog, did you?

Rikky, you really should stop using the 'all ears' emoji. All ears is precisely the last thing you are. You're all mouth and ego.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Gee, that is a terrible setback for me Stim Cyb.
If I can't use the all ears emoji how can I manage from now on?
It will be very very hard Cyb.

Well well well Yog, here you reach the end of the road.
You can't go any further.
You fail in a bad bad way.
You try and try to disprove my assertion that the consciousness can separate from the body-brain and
time and time again you fail.
You came up with a myriad of opinions that you confuse with evidence in order to disprove me but
opinions are not always evidence and of course all the opinion that you present in this thread did not carry any evidence.
What can I say Yog.
I only feel pity for you now that you are licking your wounds.
Change Yog it doesn't pay to follow all those dogmas that only serve to confuse your mind.

In the first place, it's not my job to disprove your assertion, but yours to prove. In that you failed. Second, I did indeed show that the most likely explanation for NDEs is that they are hallucinations. You're the only one who can't see that, the reason being obvious: you're a fanatic who wouldn't believe contrary evidence if it were shoved up his bum. That's your failing and everybody you interact with recognizes it as such. Your word on the matter is worth nothing.

Bahahahaha. You think I'm licking my wounds? I showed that your NDE evidence is crap and that your whole worldview is nothing but dogmatic bullshit. Feel pity for yourself for being too stupid and blind to see the obvious.

(March 18, 2017 at 10:12 am)Little Rik Wrote: Atheists keep on saying that they follow logic but in reality they go against logic.
But let me put in simple terms what is and is not logic.
Most people feel satisfied after eating or after having sex or after they got a new car.
Unfortunately this feeling of satisfaction doesn't last very long indeed.
After a short time that feeling goes away and the action need to be done once again and again and again.
In this way most people think that this repetition is the way to go and therefore it is logic and make sense.
This is not logic.
Logic is when the feeling of satisfaction is permanent not temporary.
Smart people come to understand that physical-material things can not possibly bring a permanent
state of peace of mind and happiness that is why they work on actions that fulfill a state of permanent
feeling.
Peace of mind come from within so the work need to be done within.
Forget about an external God.
The real God is you and is all within.
You only need to understand who you are, all the rest will follow.
You know, it's dumbass apologist wannabes like you that ruin it for the rest of us True Christians .
OK, the first thing you need to do when you propose an argument for God is make up your mind WHICH argument you're going to present. You think you can remember that?
You start with the Presuppositionalist approach but then swerve off into the "cross shaped hole in the heart". Make up your mind.
To help you out, I'm going to map out both arguments.
Presuppositionalism
1. Logic is a thing, didn't you know?
2. Since it's a thing, it must come from God.
3. You can't prove logic without using logic because I'm going to call that "circular reasoning"
4. Neener, neener, you don't know everything.
5. Therefore, Jesus.
6. This argument can't be used to prove any other God because Jesus holds the patent on it.
Cross Shaped Hole In Your Heart
1. No Jesus, no peace.
2. Know Jesus, know peace.
3. What do you mean "bare assertion fallacy"?
4. Therefore, Jesus.
5. This argument can't be used to prove any other God because Jesus holds the patent on it.
But here's my favorite argument for Jesus:
Every Three Step Argument for God Ever
1. Snip quack Rurhrrr snoop jupita jupita bing lang gaboing
2. Nobody has every disproven #2.
3. Therefore, Jesus.
Checkmate atheists.
