I would venture to say that blanket statements thrown out over an entire class of people based on a single binding reference point is absolutely no different that racism and holds the exact same mindset as your general run of the mill racist.

I think the signs of his racism are very apparent. It follows that his voters either didn't notice those signs, didn't care that he is most likely racist as the day is long, or actually agree with the bigoted behavior he displays.

Who's throwing anything over an entire class of people...we're talking about trump supporters here, hardly some sort of monolithic "class". More a loosely aligned basket of deplorables who refuse to admit what they proudly wave in front of each other and the world.

It could be that they did care that he is likely racist but still saw him as a lesser evil over Hilary, so begrudgingly voted for him for that reason. I feel I personally know quite a few people who fall into this category.

This young lady knows exactly why Trump won.
If the Democrats would have picked Sanders, I believe he would have won. I didn't like Sanders either personally, and damn sure wouldn't have voted for him, but he had a stronger following that Clinton supporters would have gotten behind as opposed to the other way around.

Yes, they saw racism as less important than lying. Lucky for them, they got both with Trump.
I know this is going to sound like a radical proposition, but I'm of the belief that in a nation whose Constitution guarantees equal protection under the laws, it is important that the Chief Executive be free of bigotries. I would never vote for someone who holds racist values. Ever.

I think it was more than lying for them though. For example, some people see Hilary as a killer, not just a corrupt/lying politician. But I agree, I would never vote for someone whom I saw as racist. I'd rather just not vote for anyone at all, personally.

Sure, some crazy people see that. There's a strong overlap between -those- people and the racist trumpsters. It;s almost as if an unraveling of their tenuous connection to reality is a unifying theme in both instances........
Not voting at all was an option...which is why anyone who voted for the trumpster can't -really- say that they didn;t support the trumpster. They did.

What you point to as racism, I see as just general bigotry against "outsiders." It's obvious he hates immigrants, but I've never heard him say anything blatantly racist in the same way he's openly sexist. Again, I wouldn't be surprised. I just haven't seen it. Saying Mexico sends rapists isn't saying he hates Mexicans. It's saying he hates immigrants. I've heard whispers of something about real estate in New York and racism. I'd have to give a shit about Trump to bother looking into it, but it's not important. My opinion is as low as it can go. I don't understand wht how I feel about it matters.
